CAAD3 Modern Groupset
A bit on the edge of vintage and modern. I posted this over in the Cult of CAAD. Maybe it has a home here over as well in Classic and Vintage. I upgraded this CAAD3 with mostly 105 5700 as well as other parts. Rides like a dream!

Cool bike—. Im guessing seeing the Saeco decal and threaded headset would put that bike in the mid to late 90’s.
nice more modern refresh you did. The compact crankset and big cassette will really make that bike more useful than the criterium gearing Cannondale seemed to spec on a lot of their lineup back then

Thanks for the kind words! Those black lightning CAAD7's are amazing. I had to jump on this black one when I saw it.
The bike might be a 2000. It's hard to tell. I found one very similar in the Cannondale catalogue that is black and gold. Sold with a triple crank. The bike had a triple crank with 105 "Flight Deck" 9 speed STI's when I bought it.
I agree on the black crank! That will be a future upgrade as well as a smaller cassette. The crankset and larger than needed cassette came with the 105 levers etc so I put them on for now. Searching for the right black crankset. Seat post and seat will probably get replaced at some point as well.
