Every third year box of crap check

Like most people I do have a box of crap. About every third year I check the box for parts and every time I find parts I have been searching the net for - or have re-evaluated since the last time. This time I found a pair of early Campagnolo Record "key hole" brake levers, a load of Simplex crankset parts, some Mafac cable stops, an old alu bottle for my REG holder, etc.

I believe it is the second time I have discovered that I actually did not sell all my old French bike magazines. I clearly have hundreds of them. I am as happy as the last time I discovered that!

Found an old and torn B17 narrow and a bent 3TTT bar - and made a Picasso-hommage for the workshop.

I wonder what I will find in three years time?!

Thanks! The levers are going on a 1972-3 Colnago Super in the future.

Oh, you should see what I left in the box. But it is sort of my point with the original post - about three years ago I considered these parts crap. Somewhere between then and now I have changed. I realized that one future project (the above mentioned Colnago) needed early Record levers and I did not know I had these - so I started searching the bay for a pair. Etc., etc. This is repeating itself - and with some years apart I need to check the box of crap. And I always find things there that are no longer crap... ;-)

Bikes: frankenbike based on MKM frame

It's such a great pleasure to find stuff I've forgotten I have. The trouble is that I come across those items only because I'm looking for things I can't find, things I know I have but can't remember where I put them! (Yes, I know this post does not follow the usual rules of English grammar.)

I finally started putting everything in ziplocks grouped by group, pedals, brakes, etc or bike they came off of, or?

It actually really helps mainly so they don't crush or mar so easy and makes it easier to pull just what you want out, if its near the top.
