Gitane Love

Had this one for years but it keeps returning as one of my all time favourite riders despite its mid-level status. 1975 Tour De L’Avenir. I’ve owned and ridden lots of Gitanes over the years and I’ve never ridden one I didn’t like, high or low. Post yours here and share the Gitane joy!

Bikes: Several

Here's my 1983 Gitane Interclub. Mid level frame but rides oh so nice. I put over 1000 miles on it last year.

I've been on ebay looking for vintage track bikes (for the track, not the street) and I've been drooling over this one. Unfortunately it's in France.

Bikes: I can count 'em on one hand

A couple of TdFs: the gold one (1972) I no longer own, the blue one (1970-71) I currently own:

Here is another one .
Lasted about a week then snapped the dropout off!
No accident, no jam up, just snapped!
The bits on it were worth what I paid thankfully .

Great looking ride! I think the Interclub and the Tour de L’Avenir shared the same frame.

Here's my 1984 TDF.
Used to be a Peugeot only guy before I got this bike. I have to confess that I seem to like the TDF more than my 1984 Peugeot PSV now.....

That's a beauty. I'd love to be able to get one of the '80s TdFs with Vitus tubes, but I only ever see the early '70s models pop up for sale.
