Bikes: Litespeed Ultimate, Ultegra; Canyon Endurace, 105; Battaglin MAX, Chorus; Bianchi 928 Veloce; Ritchey Road Logic, Dura Ace; Cannondale R500 RX100; Schwinn Circuit, Sante; Lotus Supreme, Dura Ace

Just got home, because I cut out early. And no, Mike, the seat post had NOT arrived! Dammit!

It was cool out this morning! About 50 and no sun, but at least not windy. No pics, sorry. Anyhow, great ride, if small - just SwimmerMike, Philpeugeot, and me. Larry showed up and was goign to ride with us, but ditched us for the Spectrum Ride, and was last seen trying to put on his helmet while trying to catch 50 Cat 1's on a downhill stretch.

Looking forward to February's ride! I promise to bring the Litespeed!

Bikes: 1981 Bianchi Specialissima, 1971 Bob Jackson. 2012 Kestrel 4000. 2012 Willier. 2016 Fuji Cross 1.1, 1950 Hetchins, 194X James Fothergill, 1971 Paramount P15, 1973 Paramount P12, 1963 Legnano (x2), 1951 Hetchins, 2024 Canyon Endurace

Reminder. The SF Peninsula ride is this weekend. I'm hoping to bring the Bianchi again. I've polished it up a bit so it looks better. I'm at about 80% on the build, so hopefully it will be ready and checked out by Saturday.

I'll be there with the Litespeed. 1995 is still C&V, right?

All bikes/riders are welcome. We won't comment on the age of the bike (at least when you can hear us).

Or the rider, for that matter.

Great ride today with Mike and Guy (whose handle I didn't catch). BUT since I didn't properly press the "Start" button on the Strava ap, apparently it never happened!

Great riding with you, folks!!!

Great ride cinelliguy and genejockey. I'm glad I didn't take the Bianchi out for it's inaugural ride. I did the test ride when I got home and had the bottom bracket come undone. It would have cut my ride really short.... See you next month.

Yeah, I carry a multitool in my saddle bag, but I don't think there's a pin spanner and lockring wrench included.

For my checkout rides I carry a lot of tools, but I needed a crank puller for this one (plus the lockring wrench and pin spanner). After a mile I thought things were good, so I decided to leave the neighborhood. One mile later, I had a lot of play in the bottom bracket so I turned around and gingerly rode home and tightened it all back up. Did another checkout ride today and all was fine.

For my "Shakedown Cruises", I like to take the bike over to Canada and 92, since it's only 4 miles from my house, and park the car with the tools there. I ride out a bit, then if needed come back to the car to adjust, etc. My neighborhood has too much traffic for a calm, undistracted shakedown.

I was hoping to get a picture of cinelliguy and his Masi, but he had to peel off at the end to head home.

If it wasn't for the fact I got the ride on Strava, I would have thought I just dreamed it. On the other hand genejockey didn't get the ride on Straae, so he'll always wonder if it really happened.

Indeed. This is what Strava told me I did:

I could have SWORN I went somewhere, and it took a lot longer than 3 seconds, but who am I to question Strava?

ETA: I could believe the power, though.

If you are not in the Elkhorn Slough, you must be fishing. Wrong choice, but it is a long drive from SJ.

I know that area well. I worked off N. First Street and ran on the Alviso levee's for ~20 years. It's a great area to "get away" and most people don't know about it.

Used to run the levee also, watched the Cisco buildings get built (this was 26 years ago before I moved to work at Union and 85)

You just described me to a tee.

No less an authority than the no-longer-on-the forums bigbossman himself proclaimed me and my frames to be "freakishly large." I can't disagree. As for slow, I have been passed by runners and unicycles on uphills. (I smoked 'em but good on the descents, though.)

I hope to able to join y'all in March, although a lot can happen between now and then . . . .
