I remember seeing this on old10speedgallery.

I know GT had a horizontal fork tip that allowed about an inch of fore-aft adjustment, but I would not characterize that as a version of the Ross fork tip.

Ooh, the purple slime Paramount! I have a soft spot in my heart (some people would say in my head) for all the splatter paint Paramounts.

I think my 1/2" PVC & 2 zip ties handlebar bag support is hideously ugly. Like "your mother-in-law at 4 AM after a pub crawl" or "homemade soap" kinda ugly.

But it works, and it was free... so it's got that going for it.

I wasn't referring to the fork ends used by GT in the very early 1990s. As you state, the GT design didn't really resemble the Ross fork end, instead having a short, horizontal, axle slot with the opening at the front.

What I'm referring to predates the GT fork end, going back to circa 1983. I can't recall the brand but they did only high end ATBs. Unlike the GT design, it had only two different axle positions in a T-shaped slot. The positions were about 1" apart, with one being in front of the downward facing exit slot and the other being behind it. Somewhere, I have a picture of it, which I'll try to find.

Sitting here reading my emails, acclimating to Florida after driving 3,000 miles. Appreciate the acclamation, (see, I care USAZorro) but I really like my unique Peugeot Competition, from my small sample count, by 2/1, so do most. So not entering "Spot" in this entertaining challenge. Don
edit: Oh, I also have a couple bikes with those Shimano Arabesque rear DR's and while not as fancyesque as the ornate shift levers, I like them too!

Speaking of ugly shift levers, has anybody seen an actual Camapagnolo Elefante shift lever? They seem to be non-existant. That could be explained by the fact that they're so grotesque that Campagnolo sold very few and any owners are embarrassed to admit that they bought one. Still, I'm hesistant to nominate something that only seems to exist in an illustration.

Aptly named and Ugh-ly

I have that saddle in black on my CF bike! I always thought it looked great and sleek on the bike. Now I'm going to be self conscious every time I ride that bike. It's a good thing I have leather saddles on my C&V bikes so I can still ride them. I do have to admit that it would look really bad on a classically set up still bike.

:lol: Ooops, Hope I didn't wreck it for you. Like I said, it's a high quality saddle and the droopy beak probably does add to the comfort and function. Maybe the ED aspect I mentioned would be reverse compensation, showing the world that the male rider is secure enough in his own virility that he doesn't need advertise it with a macho riveted saddle (just kidding). Apart from the haunting Freudian imaging, one could also posit that from certain angles, it also bears a resemblance to a cartoon elephant on the bike.. Off the bike though, I think it looks a lot better - sort of a vaguely erotic sculptural piece.

Since someone brought it up, and I own one (2 actually), here it is on my Mask 3V volumetrica. What can I say, it fits my bottom!
