Bikes: Some silver ones, a red one, a black and orange one, and a few titanium ones

Another 10

The Great American Buckle Co, Chicago. 1977

No maker, no date. It seems to be inspired by the Cyclist Cup buckle.

Sanchez International, Inc. Denver, 1983

BHS, no date

Perhaps one of the most modern of my belt buckles. Booty Boutique.

Not an Etsy directly but it appears to be home made. The bail is on the wrong side.

Another homemade.

Audax Parisian 100th Anniversary Buckle

The 100th anniversary badge was given out to randonneurs who completed a 200k on the date of the anniversary of Audax Parisian in 2021. The Davis Bike Club organized their brevet as a vintage bike event.

I was underwhelmed by the completion badge which was barely larger than a thumb. It then dawned on me that it would make a nice buckle decoration. Cold set a curve in it to match a buckle blank, a little epoxy, and Bob’s your uncle.

If you look closely, you can see one cyclist to the left of the French sporting rooster and two to the right.

Someone tried to “polish” it. Not me. BTS, no date

Ampersand Brass, Kalamazoo, MI. Um…it’s weird. Early 70s. Probably designed while using something illicit.

Bicycle…ish.

Yes, that is a Park Spoke wrench.

My tiniest belt buckle. I don’t even have a belt that thin. I’ve never worn it.

I have that last one in post #48! I bought it at a mall, probably in about '78 or so. I still wear it almost every day.

Another 10.

A buckle for the Wheelmen.

Another bicycle-ish buckle. I think this is an old logo for Rail Cycle near Mt Rainier.

Another Reynolds aluminum.

Lately I’ve found bicycle medallions for events that I find interesting. I’ve made them into buckles with blanks from BestBeltBuckle.com that are hot glued to the back. The hot glue has sufficient strength but it can be removed with heat.

This medallion is for a bike ride in Portugal (I think) that celebrates Saint Thyrsus, a Christian martyr. The translation of “bicicleta de trabalho agricola” is “agricultural work bicycle”. I think the hook on the bike is for harvesting olives. The back of the medal is of Saint Thyrsus,

This one is from a virtual running club that raises money for homeless animals. It’s one of a few kinetic buckles I have.

A medal from the American Heart Association for riding 300 miles (and donating money). Another kinetic one.

A celebratory medallion for the Egypt Cycling Federation’s 75th anniversary. One of the more colorful buckles I have.

A 1972 Diacompe medallion. I think it was for the 1972 WCCSC CycleRama Trade Show. WCCSC is the West Coast Cycle Supply Co

The last of them…for now!

Bronze 1995 France cycling medal. “10e M.A.M. 95” is engraved on the back.

1987 USSR Moscow Cycling Sport Medal 1987, Cycle Racing Championship.

A bunch of bicycle license plates I’ve gleaned from my local co-op.

French medal 1983 200km Excelsior cycling race.

Giant Bicycle Cyclethon medallion. 1991 Lake Taupo, New Zealand.

Four new ones.

Norba Nationals

Alpinestars. It says “One Coal, One Vision” but I think someone made a mistake with the “c”

An early Salsa. I have two other Salsas

The Fleabay gods have been kind of late. Three new ones

WC Fields with an ordinary from the 1936 film, Poppy

A safety cycle scene.

A buckle from Weyless which is “short-lived USA company which made successful market inroads by producing top-of-the-line components. Training rollers, hubs, seat posts, pedals and 100% wool jerseys were the principle products. Founder was Lester Tabb from Greenwich Conn. His desire for a better set of rollers lead to the Weyless with side mounted steps.’

Performance sold Weyless as house branded products for a while.

I am a big fan of W.C.Fields, love the belt buckle. cyccocommute, your growing buckle collection is a highlight in this thread. I am not a collector of ephemera, but this is one cool collection.

I was moving a couple of years ago and posted an add to give away a bunch of good 23 mm tires. They were surprisingly hard to give away. The guy who finally took them confessed that he was going to use them to make belts.

Now that is clever! Maybe I say that because I would be willing to wear it.

Rich pickin’s since February on Fleabay.

Although it doesn’t say “RAGBRAI”, this is the 10th RAGBRAI route which was their longest.

Bontrager logo.

I have one of these (sold by Sears in the 1970s) in plain brass. I don’t usually do multiples of my belt buckles but this one is different enough. This one is geerrrreen.

Another one in black, although looking at it in bright light, it is very dark green.

Another duplicate…kind of. My other Moots buckle says “Steamboat Springs” which is the hometown of Moots while this one is from Moots home county.

Another quasi-duplicate. I have one without the “Yamaha” on it.

A truly unique one.

Marked “Veteran Men, 55 Road, 4th”

Belt buckle from the annual party in Fort Collins, CO at New Belgium Brewery

Not sure where this comes from.

BSA belt buckle. I know that it is meant to be for their motorcycles but this logo was used for BSA bicycles from around 1900 to 1950. “BSA” bottom bracket stands for “Birmingham Small Arms”. BSA started making bikes in 1880 until 1897 and invented the 1.37" x 24 TPI (Threads Per Inch) standard around 1890. Birmingham Small Arms stopped making bicycles in 1897 to produce rifles for the British Army. They made 1200 rifles a week for 9 years. They restarted making bicycles in 1908 and continued until 1957 when they sold the bicycle division to Raleigh.

157 buckles so far.
