Fuji S12S Ltd 650B FD problem
Hi guys, a version of this question on the mechanics forum as well. I have Sora 7 speed shifter, Sugino triple XD crank. Sora front derailleur. I can't get over to the big ring. My chainline is good at 45mm. I think this is a cable tension issue as I can push the cage over the ring. How do I get max tension on this cable? Low chainring position, in line cable adjuster all the way in, pull as tight as a possible on cable. Anything else I am missing. Should I pull the cage over then big ring then pull on cable and secure it?

You sure you’ve got the high and low limits straight? 😉

Are you sure the cable housing and ferrules are all fully seated? Maybe the FD is adjusted for too much clearance on the low side?
Secure the cable when FD is in the inner position. (I’m quite sure you already knew this!)
Send a PM if I might be able to assist in person - I live up nearby (near WS U-Haul place)

There's a good chance that it's a cabling issue. Some derailleurs (especially Shimano) are very sensitive to the way the cable routes to and attaches to the anchor bolt. It's not always intuitive.
Also check derailleur mount height, but I don't think this is your problem.
