Thanks for the heads up! Not a bad price at all for a new merino jersey with today's dollars.

For those wondering how to measure a sleeve, you start at the center of the nape of your neck, not your shoulder. Below are some sizing resources from Surly. I was curious.

I got an XL and its a slim fit, plenty of stretch and being 100% wool it could shrink if it was too big and they stretch plenty as well as being easy to block if its too snug.

This is a smokin deal on a very good piece of kit, back pocket is a bit odd but ok, its like a front pullover sweatshirt with zippers on the sides.

You cannot find a simple jersey like this, even the regular price is not bad compared to anybody else's.

Bikes: Two Peter Mooney customs, a 1980 Trek 510 townie, a Marin Stelvio set up for TTs.

A 40" chest is small? All 140lbs of me would disagree.

Huh. "Waist" smaller than chest. I better put in some more miles.

It fits me very well and is stretchy in the right way, it is a little long but that is correct for on the bike so it covers you well.

So accustomed to top loading pockets, I would just lose stuff.
Black… toss visibility overboard.

It will get worn under plaid flannel shirts and safety orange rain jacket. With 2-3 headlights and 3-4 tailights, visibility is never a problem.

I don't use any pockets for much, I think these sideload will be easier to get to and will work out just fine one way or another.

I don't find merino scratchy at all. I wear short sleeve merino jerseys during the warm weather as they don't smell badly after a ride.

Yep, I have several other merino jerseys, shirts and base layers, no scratchy, this one seems to be a little less refined, its 100% and heavier than any others I have by quite a bit.

It may soften up with washing so we'll see.

My Dad and Grandad were big wool guys, loggers, ocean fishing, Dad in the Navy. They both wore a lot of scratchy old school Pendleton, taught me about wool socks and Grandad sold plywood mill sanding belts and wool backing pads, he also made insoles out of the wool scraps that work fantastic.

I've been wearing it most of my life, have at least a couple dozen pair of socks, half a dozen tops, a couple sets of long underwear including an arctic weight set I used when I used to ride my motorcycle to the dragstrip in the rain.

Finally got another Pendleton last fall, a bit scratchy but very cool and glad I have one again.

in SoCal, we never admit to cold and rain, even after a wet El Niño winter. The legacy now is slope surfing houses and mega brush growth.

We don't have that luxury in the PNW.

You can gain 10% on average speed if you shed 50% of the lights 🤣
