1997 Specialized Rockhopper

My Dad gave me his old 1997 Specialized Rockhooper which was pretty original - this is how I got it.

Out on the local trails

Original Team Control tyre - a bit slippy!

New grips, cables, chain, cassette, (some second hand solid Haro bmx pedals) and grease.

It has to be a Smoke

Ritchey drop outs

And a Dart on the front

Fun to ride.

Nice multipurpose bike. I bought mine new in 1997 IIRC.

That one can be converted to suspension in the front if you find the right fork.

Great MTB and bullet proof frame made with Tange tubing , those were some of the best specialized mountain bikes ever made, robust and comfy.

Hey that looks familiar. I took pity on this what was downtrodden Rock Hopper.

Oxidized paint has been polished to a high shine, i preformed a hub swap to 8sp and Xt brakes and shifters. As a touch of zany I found a nos grabon for the grips. The tires are Farmer John
