Bits that get lost a lot, rendering the rest unusable...

Those adjuster bits on the Dia-Comp and Weinmann side-pulls' QR mechanism go missing a lot; the bit with female threads that slides up-and-down.

(the brass-bit in the pic below):

sometimes I see an o-ring on the bottom where the threads poke out to hold it in place when it is not assembled.

I don't know if they go missing "a lot". I've never lost any. For brakes that aren't installed on a bike, just use a wire tie to keep it with the calipers.

Even if they do get lost, those are basic barrel adjusters, easily available.

That's not the bit that gets lost (well they do, but being readily available as you point out it only renders the brake *temporarily* unusable).
It's the female bit with the shoulders that bear on the QR mechanism.

Oh, and what's more fun is they come in different sizes...

And even if he did carry the part, someone upset that nice Mr. Porkchop and now he won't ship north anymore.

On a related note; you know the hair rubber bands that are not really that great for hair because it can damage it? I buy them in bulk to tie up all sorts of things and bike parts in particular. Sadly rubber bands degrade over time but so far these seem to last forever.

These are what I'm talking about:

Tangentially related… the adapter washer that allows the use of a “normal” rear derailleur on Schwinn fillet-brazed bikes that have Huret dropouts. Without it, the derailleur doesn’t work.

Does anyone know if the "quick release caliper adjusters" you posted will work on
Shimano 600 Arabesque brakes? I think they're model 600EX. I have several pairs that are missing these.

Different modus operandi. On the dia compe (at least the one I'm holding right now that uses the part you are showing) that quick release is mounted on the upper arm of the caliper, the cable stop barrel sits in it. On the shimano the quick release is mounted at the bottom with a cable clamp.
