got some pix with the cellphone. there is remnants of Reynolds Steel tubing decals at the top of the fork blades. dropouts are Shimano. Is equipped with side-pull brakes. Crank is SR Apex 42-52, Shimano 600 ders, Shimano downtuble shifters, drop bars have Diacompe levers (non-drilled), black tape and brown hoods.Araya 27" sew-up rims (bad shape),Logos on saddle worn off. Seatpost is fluted SR. Paint is very faded, with rust on teh chrome ends (no other rust). The Diacpompe brake housing gudes from the top tube had been removed at the bike co-op I volunteer at.. former owner was going to single speed frankenbike it (I talked him out of it), bought it for $20. I had no idea what it was...just didn't seem right to frankenbike it tho....Frame is in remarkable condition other than the rusted chrome. No dents, scrapes, bends.Seatpost and bb came right out. Chromed headset is rusted.. I would like to restore this but I'm up to my neck in rebuilds now (just got the Moto GT back from powder coating). Maybe a resto-mode later this year. Anyone interested in restoring this I'm in north FL (J'ville).

Same color as the later AD SLE I have. Great frame and the paint polished really nicely (so don’t give up on it.
Derust the fork as best you can, polish, wax and ride!

Good candidate for some SunTour Cyclone or early Superbe stuff, IMHO...

Absolutely worth saving and building up with you favorite parts.
I have, and my A-D Inter-10 is one of my all-time favorite bikes. It is probably the one I have made most miles on.

AD Inter10
Sorry for the belated posts. I put the I10 frame aside for awhile. Was needing to finish other projects. I've finished the Motobecane (GT), aquired a Takara 732 and an AD special Light. The Takara and SL were supposed to be just for parts but I ended up doing a resto-mod on the Takara. The SL has been stripped and parts are earmarked for the Inter10, which is now back from powder coating. \I'm attaching pix of the Takara ('55 732} and the Moto. (Pix of the I10 when I get the fork installed).
Thanks, DA
ps: The AD Super Light frame needs a home. Size 62ST/58TT. Small dent in tt, otherwise in good condition

AD Superlight
I picked this up off Craigslist last month for parts for my Inter10. I have no interest in rebuilding it...it is way too big for me (62st/58tt). Has a little surface rust, small dent in the toptube. I'd like to give it to someone wanting to do a rebuild. Any interest out there?
Thanks, DA

AD Inter 10
Finally finished rebuilding the AD. Paint is called "Moca" (lol), by PowderTech, Orange Park, FL. Wheels and crank from AD Superlight donor bike. Rest; original parts + the parts bin.
Thanks, DA

The AD SL is not the Superleicht, but a version just below the SLE. Usually tre-tubi Reynolds 531 then lower tier tubing on fork and stays. Still a great little frame.

All of the 531 (tretubi or tutti!) Austro-Daimlers and Puchs were built in Graz; the literature at the time indicated they were very proud of their precision mitering and that they were silver-brazed. Puch's nicer bikes in those years were either Reynolds 531 OR Puch's own alloy steel. Since they WERE Steyr-Daimler-Puch, a conglomerate that produced motor vehicles, aircraft engines and small arms, they were pretty decent at it.
The ones without top tube cable braze-ons are later, like c.1978 or 79 - the initial ones that came in using 531 all used top tube cable clips, and the only stock braze-on was a pip on the down tube to stop the clamp-band shifter from sliding down.
If anyone has a 57-58 cm A-D or Puch frame with partial or full 531 tubing they wish to dispose of cheaply, I'm always interested - maybe broke, but always interested!

The ride is very sweet. Feels a lot like my Flite 300. Very easy to get up to speed and keep and keep there and comfy with the mustache bars, and long wheelbase stable.
The AD SL that was the donor bike did have remnants of 531 decals on it...frame and fork. I gave the frame to the co-op I volunteer at (way too big for me). The fork is now doing duty on a Supercourse II that had a bent fork.
I'm not up to snuff on AD history. I took the Inter 10 home because under all the rust and grime and rubbed off decals I suspected there was something special. Definetely worth all the time, effort, and $$ spent. A keeper.
Now, I'm having a too many bikes dilema. Eight now. Guess I'm officially a bike nerd. Is there some sort of national bike adoption agency (LOL).
