Suntour Superbe rear derailleur mounting bolt

Got this Suntour Superbe RD for cheap off fleabag specifically because it was missing the mounting bolt.

Didn't realize until later that this is actually the Superbe Pro (plain lower pivot bolt, Allen bolt for cable clamp are the giveaways). Although the pivot bolt should also be unmarked, I would be fine with a Suntour marked pivot bolt.

Digging through the co-ops derailleur mounting bolt drawer yielded several long Suntour mounting bolts. All of them have still been just a bit short (maybe 5mm).

So does anyone have one on hand that wouldn't mind measuring the length for me? I'm headed to another bike shop in hopes of finding one that fits.

Don't have your bolt (I need one, too!) but just pointing out that that cable bolt is not original -- it's clearly cobbled together - -even has what looks like a presta valve nut as a spacer!

got impatient and spent 25.00 to fix this exact issue.

Ziptied Suntour RD

I also happen to have just pulled that piece off a build, temporarily, so I can get you that measurement in the morning.

Oh, I remember reading this!

I have a 1st Gen Suntour Cyclone that has the same length of bolt, but now I need one for that derailleur as well!
Suntour BL also takes a quite long mounting bolt.

I got one from the co-op that looks like the diagram and is long. I may have just gotten lucky! But I don't think I'll be getting another Superbe RD without the mounting bolt.

Hi-Jack warning:
But y'know what would be a big help for us C&Vers who use Sun Tour (and SunTour and Suntour) RDs?
A comprehensive reference (with dimensions/specs and pix) for all the similar yet different RD mounting bolts that Maeda just never got standardized.

Maybe that was the actual cause of their ultimate demise ?
Anyhow there was a good start to it in this thread:
https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-v...-bolt-you.html
with entries from @steelbikeguy who had very good refs for Cyclone Mk I and MkII...maybe we who have too much spare time (and a digital caliper) can just add more info to this, or maybe start a standalone thread?

I'm just the "idea guy", here...

Well, I did get extremely lucky! Fits perfect, although it doesn't match the finish of the lower knuckle bolt.

Now to find a better matching clamp bolt.
