Great job and beautiful color. I'd prefer tan/skin wall tires but to each his own. You should check those front brake pads n holders.

By 1980, gum walls were not as popular. By 1981, people had black (gasp) stems on their bikes and black brake hoods.
I always mess up the brake shoes. Good advice as always.
PS: BG, you're the best. Your box of trinkets, cable ends, ferrels, etc made the build so much faster. Thanks.

1, I had issues with finding brakes with recessed nuts. I found that using the rear “bolt/nut” combo works w the front with the recessed nut.
then Justyne *****, Bike Recyclery) sold me a brake kit for parts which allowed me to use that bolt on what was the front.
that’s how the brake shoes became reversed.
2, Oregon Pinot Noir, Domaine Serene 2008 to be exact.
after the wine spectator, November 2008 came out noting that Oregon was no longer competing with California for second place , Oregon was on par with burgundy making the best Pinot Noir in the world, I went a little overboard. On that vintage.
it’s now the house pour.
3, my neighborhood has a train and hobby store. There they sell little brushes that remind me of a plastic version of the Japanese toothpick with the smallest Q-tip end.
Trust me, I’m not that good at coloring inside the lines.
The secret is having a Q-tip dipped in paint thinner and wiping away the excess.
