Cable clamps - advice
This may seem a bit silly but I’m looking for top tube cable clamps - NOS, prefer French or Italian - and are there any brands that I should seek or avoid? I HATE cheap hardware FWIW.
Yeah, I know, It’s just a silly clamp but aesthetics matter for this application. I saw some REG clamps on eBay that look right but if the screw or nut are kinda flimsy it would be a hard pass.

But be aware that Simplex were probably* made for French diameter TT, which is larger than English/Italian. Not sure they'll tighten on an inch TT (don't remember)
* maybe they made them in inch size too, but all I've seen were French.
Jargon request: can we try to call these housing clamps? Cable clamps clamp cables, like at the brake or the straddle yoke.
I'm also on a crusade to stamp out the term "cable stop". There are housing stops, and there are cable guides, but there are no cable stops, that I know of.

But where do you stand on the term bottom bracket? The term originally referred to the lug, aka bracket, at the bottom of the frame. The cups-balls-and-axle assembly are a bearing, not a bracket.

Got three sets of NOS top tube cable clamps. Campy and Shimano, as I recall. Even know exactly where they are. I have Simplex and Reg also, but not sure if they are NOS. I should take a look just to see what is in that drawer...

Campagnolo housing clamps never look out of place and usually shine up well.

I think you’re fighting an uphill battle on the cable/housing thing but I commend your efforts Mark. I’m still irked about clipping in to clipless pedals but that is a discussion for Tom’s thread.

There are no-name stainless housing clamps on that auction site, they are ok but one edge has a bit of stamping flash, they need 5 minutes attention with a riffler fie..
Also got some NOS AGPA chromed steel from the same place, they are good enough:

DuraAce - not NOS but nice...
Shimano NOS - 3 sets, 2 still packaged...
Hurett - not perfect but I would clean up and use...
Campagnolo Old School - all five and three in the middle are pretty nice...
