Just use those felt brake pads from the stationary bike. They'll keep your rims nice and clean.

But they won't stop me.

These help stop and stay clean at the same time!!

Huh... something else to tempt me paying $$ for something I've done without for what, going on 53 years?

Do these things actually have a metal part in contact with my precious rims whilst I'm riding or ar they adjustable to keep a small gap?

Or would that effectively make them useless?

I just last year built a new set of (tubular) rims so as to give the OEM set from 1972 a well-deserved retirement. My NOS rims prolly have thick-enuf rims to last me (and them!) my remaining lifetime, but still... maybe these things are worthwhile?

Something to ponder over a second G&T on the first Friday evening of Summer 2025.

Edit: website no longer connects so I'm guessing these are 'collectible' now, eh?

Bikes: Indeed!

Another reason to own lots of bikes!
If you rotate your rides through a large number of bikes you'll never feel compelled to buy these silly things. I've never worn out rims except on my rim-brake mountain bikes.
