Bikes: Cannondale tandems: '92 Road, '97 Mtn. Mongoose 10.9 Ti, Kelly Deluxe, Tommaso Chorus, Cdale MT2000, Schwinn Deluxe Cruiser, Torker Unicycle, among others.

What artist with ANY standards would use a single-wall rim?

Coincidentally enough, I was just cleaning out bike crap from my basement (trash amnesty day tomorrow!) and found a Viscount alu fork. I like the idea of the toilet paper holder.

Bikes: 1967 Paramount; 1982-ish Ron Cooper; 1978 Eisentraut "A"; two mid-1960s Cinelli Speciale Corsas; and others in various stages of non-rideability.

What can you make out of this?

Bikes: Several, mostly not name brands.

The folded sheet metal rear derailleur performed as poorly as it looked. Huret must have some secret sauce to make their folded sheet metal derailleurs function well.

What did they use for front derailleurs in those days?
The Lambert front derailleur was a push-rod mechanism much like the Campagnolo Valentino front derailleur.

He made these in about 1960.

What?! There is a trash amnesty day? What does that mean? Is that were you bring out your dead?

Do you ride around the neighborhood shopping for bikes?

Years ago, I lived in Maplewood, NJ, and we called it Bulk Trash Day. You could put out things that are not allowed any other day. People put out so much valuable stuff that others would come from other towns to pick through our trash. And it was on Bulk Trash Day that I found my 1971 Raleigh Super Course.

Curbside shopping. The best prices, some assembly required.

Well, that's on Allston Christmas or 1 September, the traditional college-student move-in/move-out /lease turnover day in the Boston area. I've lived here for 34 years and have never actually done the rounds to look for bikes left behind on that day, but there are stories.

For my town's trash amnesty (twice per year--near Memorial Day and Labor Day), everything needs to be bagged up, so one would need serious bike mojo to determine if there's a bike in that bag. I put these two Columbia frames in one bag:

Then again, none of my neighbors seems to have put out any additional bags, so perhaps I'll be dragging all of this back to my basement tomorrow evening.
