o.k., what type of tubing is it? seamed, etc.? does it have a Reynolds or Columbus "equivalent" i could comprehend?

It's probably safe to assume that it's a variant of Tange #2, which is pretty decent tubing. Tange tubing ranged from Tange #5 up to Tange #1, with #1 being the best. If this "2C" tubing is in fact a version of #2, it's not quite in the same league as 531 or SL, but it's better than anything you'll find on the average bike-boom bike.
