I've change my Sakae to 42t single speed at the front. It's much less problematic and quieter which makes for a more enjoyable ride.

From a earlier discussion, I think this is jbchybridrider's 1989 Sakae Litage: Older Aluminum Bikes, show yours.

Last is a Diamondback Apex. It belongs to a friend, but I'm doing some maintenance on it for him. Needs new cables, chain, and a new front derailleur. He commutes to work with it, so I'm trying to convince him on a set of road tires. Overall, it's a pretty sweet bike. A mix of Avenir and Shimano M735 Deore XT components.
BTW, Nice stable of vintage MTB's there!

Oops. My bad. Definitely an Axis, and an Axis that’s giving me fits. The previous owner really cob jobbed it. Wrong length bottom bracket, and other such atrocities. Every time I think I have it working, I find something else wrong with it. Uggghhhhhhh. Wish me luck.

That’s a bit extreme. Taking something completely apart to “fix” it, seldom fixes anything. Address the “problem” rather than disassemble the system. If, for example, there is a problem with the crank, address that problem but you don’t need to remove the fork to do so. By all means go over the bike and assess what issues might be present but fix those issues and leave the rest of the bike alone.

Needless to say, I’m happy to have found a Miyata with a nice large frame:

I just bought this Gios and Olmo bike at an estate sale yesterday (saturday). It is in an excellent condition - as new in every aspect no scratch and too dusty. Unfortunately, both the Olmo and Gios are too small for me. I am still researching them. I plan to sell both in the near future (not necessarily together), but as a frame and fork or complete.
Enjoy,
Enjoy,

Wow, that is one blingy mountain bike. I love the green headset on the red paint.

The bike is in excellent condition indeed - it pains me that I wont keep it. The seller through in 20 tubeless tires for free. Usually my wife does not even notice I have a new bike. This time she noticed it and questioned my spending :-)

'88 Raleigh Technium "The Chill"
First year for The Chill, only year with the chainstay U brake and monopost seat stay. Picked up for $60 from my favorite CL seller. Added the new grips, seat and shorty fenders this week, awaiting some cushy street tires and I should be good!

Seduced by Vintage MTBs
The first was this 1996 ParkPre Pro 825 that I acquired from my local community bike co-op, I found the 'Zokes DH3 fork in a box of susp forks in the corner, and the Deore crank in another box:
Then I found this Bianchi Super Grizzly Reparto Corse on Ebay, and given my pariality to Bianchi bikes, the ParkPre found a new owner and I acquired the Griz. Digging through my parts bin I found an early model Hayes Unique caliper that matched up perfectly with the caliper bosses on the 'Zokes Bomber Atom fork.
But, when a friend gifted me this 1997 Specialized Stumpjumper Comp M2, that had hung un-used in this garage for 33yrs, I had to let go of the Super Griz to make room. The tires were cracked, so I replaced them with the period-correct Panaracer Smoke and Dart. Otherwise, its completely original:

Early 90s Trek 970
Hi - found this bike on my local CL. Only thing I did was change the grips which were torn and wrapped in electrical tape. Maybe not the rarest beast but it's a beauty.

Picked up this 1991 Apex to keep me busy during quarantine. Came with a Mt Zefal frame pump which didn't make the photo.
