A square bmx frame, what is it?
This strange bmx bike was left behind in the garage by previous owners, over twenty five years ago. The bicycle frame and forks are made of square stock, not tubes. It's a 20", dark metal flake blue, has some old, heavy mag rims on it. I'm considering cleaning it up, because it looks cool, and I've never seen one before. Anyone have any ideas on what it is?

Redline's had box section chainstays, don't remember about the forks, those darn bmx builders started the "unicrown" fork construction too. Most Redline's I saw were plated though.

I have a M & L Racing Frame from 1976 made of sq tubing in blue.Very rare frame. The early stuff was very heavly built to handle the ruff tracks, the tracks got smoother and the bikes got lighter(cr-mo) and faster.

not sure w/o a pic, but 'Stroker' was a brand that had used square/rectangular tubes. with 'flower' mags back in the day. They weighed a ton, but were indestructible compared to MCS, Redline, rampar, thruster..
Not sure on the forks though, as the folkds I knew with them had round tubed forks.

Can't tell without photos, but PK Rippers (made by SE Racing) were aluminum and had rectangular (not square) tubes. You'd be able to tell if it's aluminum, because it would have heavy heliarc welds.
They started making them again but a vintage one would definitely be pricey.

You could possibly contact moderator Brian about that. It's within his area of expertise, if I'm not mistaken.
