Serrotta/Murray on Craigslist

Ad on todays SF Craiglist. $500 delivered? I'll take two please.

Built by Serotta, sold by Murray and fitted with all Campagnollo components. Fifty nine CM seat tube, 57cm top tube. Columbus tubing, Continental tires, Mavic wheels, Rolls SanRemo saddle. This series of bikes was built to take advantage of the 84 L.A. Olympics. Great red paint, chrome forks and stays and campy dropouts. Found at a Dallas estate sale-no rust ever.
I can box this beauty up and have UPS deliver to your house for $500.

Cool! Get 'em both, and after they've been in your garage for a while I'll give you $35 for one.

I know this seller, he's on the up and up. If I could blow the $500 right now I'd do it if it were the right size!

Problem is - it IS my size. *curses* I have a wedding, honeymoon, apartment, etc etc to save for right now. And don't think my fiancee would approve of me petitioning all of my family to pool wedding gift funds to buy this for me!

It's odd that he hasn't posted the listing in the Dallas CraigsList as well, I guess he knows where the market for the nicer stuff is.

All that stuff is overrated. You may only get one chance at a bike like that. I passed on one locally due to a big dent in a seatstay and too much garage and road rash for the price.

Maybe if I hadn't already induldged in one *I gotta have that!* impulse this month.

In all honesty I have no where to store another bike right now, and while I may never get another chance at a bike like this - I know I'll never get another chance at a finacee as wonderful as mine. (Yes I know someone will say 'You're young and don't know any better' - but yes, I'm young, and while I may not know better - I'll take her over the bike thank you.)
