vintage raleigh brake cable upgrade

I have an older Raleigh Superbe with pretty stretched and worn out brake cables. It has the type of brakes that use a cable with a slug (or whatever you call it) on either end and these cables are nearly impossible to find now. Anyone have a simple way to convert so I can use the newer cables that have a pinch on the brake end? Is there a pinch bolt available that will fit well at the brake? I did see somewhere that someone used the triangular pinch part from a center-pull brake on the end of the brake cable, but that seems kind of an inelegant kludge. Is there some kind of pinch bolt that is designed specifically to upgrade these old brakes? I don't really want to put all new brakes on the bike.
Thanks!

Take a look at the cable knarps:

Is that what you need?

Well, that triangle piece is what I mentioned that people have used, but it's not really an ideal fix. Guess I'll poke around at the hardware store and see if I can come up with something...

Bikes: Mostly English - predominantly Raleighs

I have a NOS white cable that I think would work for the rear. Unfortunately, I don't have one for the front.

OldRoads is great for stuff like this. Nice to deal with too.

Original Raleigh brazed-end cables are available on eBay now and then. Usually with silver housing.

I have a few Clarks cables set up in this fashion, all fronts. One Raleigh and half a dozen oddballs for '50s BSAs/Triumphs/Phillips/etc. Have yet to find rears though...

I think you missed the item Dirtdrop was referring to. Scroll down a little further on the page, they say they carry this item just for the application you're talking about-

You're right, I didn't look close enough- looks like those may be the ticket. Thanks Dirt Drop and Well Biked.
