Z0US Competicion Dropouts?

Recently I picked up a Raleigh 'Grand Sports'.

Blue and white Renyolds 531 frame, forks and stays with chromed ends; serial number 87255. From sketchy data at retro-raleighs.com, it appears as if it may date from the period 1968-1972.

Front fork and rear dropouts are stamped 'Z0US Competicion'. Not a typo--Z zeta 0 zero U united S sam; the word 'competition' in the French spelling.

Google has not been my friend on this one. Z0US? Anyone?

Right now I'm removing reflective tape with a hair dryer, goo-gone is powerless, but heat and fingernails seem to be working.

Its a lovely frame, wish it were my size.

will like to see pics when you get the frame cleaned off. You're 100% sure the it's not spanish and doesn't actually say ZEUS?

Zeus dropouts used a typeface with a lower case e in an otherwise upper case type block, sounds like a damaged die, Zeus was a typical source for ends on these frames, not exclusive but common. And much cheaper for the same "Campagnolo" look.

I bid on a Zeus fork with the investment cast crown shown on the link to Classic Rendezvous above yesterday. The bidding went to $61, but didn't meet the reserve. I can live without it.
