The original wheelset and brake levers were gone, but all other campy bits were there. Not sure what they were, but the RD was Record, probably late 70s to early 80s.
I only brought $160 cash. It went for $165.
I'm going to go cry in the corner now. I guess I'm filing this as a "Catch of the Day" for that other guy.
Lifted from the ebay listing:

So, I'm walking to the shops this morning and I see a sign that says "street sale", so I think, what the heck and follow the sign. It is now 10am - the sale starts at 10. I see a guy selling a whole box of assorted bike parts. This is what I scored:
Campy Record f&r hubs - $5
2X XT front derailleurs, XT 7spd thumbshifters, 1" Syncros quill stem, Suntour NJS 15t track cog - $10
The Mavic sew-up rim pictured was laced to the rear Campy hub.
Not a bad morning's work...and I wasn't even looking for garage sales!

Made a catch today at a thrift shop, not very thrifty at $50 considering the condition, but pretty cool. I'm pretty sure it's a 1949 Raleigh Lenton Sports using the date on the hub, although the color looks more gold to me instead of green. It has a repair brazed into the downtube, not stock front wheel, generally has almost 6 decades of "patina", but I had to have it. Recently aquired a 1961 "last of the Lenton's" from BF member nlerner, and think it's cool to have an earlier one. Here's a pic and links to a couple others:

From a sale at the local pedicab garage a couple weeks back:
* Two sets of handlebars
* One Sugino XD 175mm crankset (with chain ring bolts)
* Two new Wald chainguards (with mounting hardware)
* Two new brake cables
Total = $13
Yesterday at Goodwill I saw what I guessed to be a late '70s Raleigh Sport. Frame was in good shape and the Shimano three speed seemed to be functional. I balked at the $55 price. Did I make a mistake by passing it up?

Nothing this weekend. I had to work Saturday (AGAIN) and of course it rained all weekend. I found
a Selle Italia Alpes leather saddle at the LBS for $5, though. The weekend isn't a total loss, as I
just finished adjusting the brakes on my 830, and the XO-3. I also popped the Selle Italia on the Prelude, and found it would slide back far enough to make riding it possible. Well worth the $5 in my opinion.
It had more adjustment than the anatomica, and the anatomica can go on something else where adjustment
isn't as critical.,,,,BD

Trek 670, Trek 500, and a Schwinn LeTour
It was a slow summer for vintage bikes until this weekend. In 3 days I found a 1985 Trek 670 with Neuvou Record, a 1984 Trek 500, and a Schwinn Letour (1979?). All were within 2 miles of my house at garage sales. Price? $50, $15 and $5 respectively. Didn't even spend any gas as I 'towed' them home with my commuter bike.

The funny thing about this pair was that the thrift was in the middle of wino-ville. You just never know.....
