Thanks, Serendipper. The pink primer really didn't look that bad.

This bike came with Dura-Ace and Ultegra, so that's what's going back on it.

I'm putting a new 2007 Campy Record group on the new 953 Waterford, though. It'll be my first experience with Ergopower controls, so I'm a little apprehensive. I'm expecting delivery sometime next month.
That'll be nice too, I have a few pieces of late 80s/early 90s dura ace, The calipers are the best single pivot calipers I have ever used, Next to my modern dual pivot campy they are the best. I almost had a 85/86 paramount frame, but when the owner went to get it from the shop for me the day after he said he would sell it to me, his mechanic said he wanted to keep it. ARRGGG I relly liked the off yellow colour it was too.

OK, it's "Ferrari Red" now! And scooper just drove off w/it!
But here's the requisite picture (my <100k version)
scooper will likely post a bigger version.

now let's see what I can do for ol' Corky.

It's gorgeous! The photos don't do it justice. I'll take some close-ups tomorrow with the photo background paper. Dr. Deltron showed me Corky while I was there, and it's coming right along.

This morning I greased the headset bearings and installed the headset so I could get some photos of the assembled frameset. The more closely I look at the exquisite paint job Dr. Deltron did, the more impressed I am. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend his services to anyone looking for a first class paint job at a reasonable price.

I don't want to tie up bandwidth here, so here are links to the pictures:

Sheesh makes me want to work on my project. I work three days a week right now. Always clear, cool and sunny while I'm working, then cold and/or raining while I'm off. This week is no different.,,,,BD

Shouldn't have any problems with Ergo...I've ridden both but, prefer ergo. They will feel different.

Must be a pretty spendy build...$6,000? I held the first Waterford 953 frame (had Newvex lugs) and it was quite impressive with its red lug outlines and all. Looked almost identical to a mid 70s Paramount.

Sweet! Would it be against forum rules to share how much money we're talking about when you say reasonable? You mentioned you picked up the frame yourself. What's a guy in Dayton, Ohio to do if he wants Dr. Delton's services? Just a hypothetical.

I'd rather let Dr. Deltron speak for himself about his rates, but I know people ship him frames to paint from all over the country, and many of them aren't rare or collectable or expensive bikes.

You're in the ballpark. That first frame was shown at Interbike and the owner is also in Northern California. Mine is also being built with tweaked Newvex lugs and the red lug outlines.
