So far I would say the persons selling the larger frames are doing a much better job of marketing. Lots of good clear pics vs. a few crappy pics.

I totally agree. That was the selling point for me and probably why I paid what I did. When you can give the seller lots of eye candy, it sells. Just like women who love bikes that are shiny!

Monostay would have been a selling point for me. Too bad it the other one is too big for me also. Or maybe a good thing.

I'm looking for an 80's road frame with a 27 inch seat tube (68.5cm). Schwinn made them, Fuji did, and some other brands. Doesn't have to be in great shape.

Ideale would probably work too.
The tension shackle (that's what it's called) can be had for $3 from wallbike.

Looking for a green Raleigh chainguard to go with this bike ...

This is a 1978 bike - a Raleigh Sports I assume. Note the missing chainguard.

Anyone have a matching chainguard collecting dust in your junk pile? Thanks!

I'm needing a front derailleur and a seatpost to fit this frame. It's a late 80's bonded aluminum Trek 7000. The outside seat-tube diameter seems to measure just over 35mm, so I'm not exactly sure how that corresponds to front derailleur clamp size needed. As far as seatpost fit, a 27.2 I tried was too large, and a 26.4 was undersized. Absent the actual items needed, if somebody could advise on what size derailleur and seatpost I should be looking for, that would be helpful too. Thanks!

I have a steel Trek MTB that looks to have the same size tubing. If your LBS can't measure the post for you, I suppose you could make the educated guess of 26.8. If it fits, you're in. If it doesn't, you'll know what you need.

I thought that size tubing would be right for a 31.8mm clamp, but as that seems too small, it must be 34.9mm.

Thanks USAZorro. OK, I can now be specific on the derailleur. Anybody have a 34.9mm, bottom-pull MTB front derailleur (late 80's, early 90's vintage)?

Bikes: Formerly...1978 Proteus, 1981 Miyata 912, 1983 Schwinn Paramount, 1962 Raleigh Sports Deluxe, 1976 Alan Super Record.

I am not having any luck looking locally for this! (I'll stop the alliteration there.)

Anyways... I'm looking for a minty 9mm key washer for a Shimano front axle. (15mm outer diameter.) Any leads are welcome too, I've looked on a bunch of websites.
