WTB: Wheelset. Doesn't have to be C&V per se, but I need something with a 6-spd freewheel on it. Looking to spend ~$100.

I have a nearly complete 8 speed STI group which is probably going to jump ship from my black Cannondale to the Team Miyata frame sometime in the future. It has a Bontrager Sport crank, since the LBS had a choice between that or Veloce, hehe. I just need a charcoal tri color crank to complete the group!,,,,BD

One just went on eBay for $50. I've been looking, too.

ISO 54-55 cm sport tourer for commuting and maybe some randonneuring in the future.

Need eyelets front and rear and prefer 700c wheels.

I would prefer a complete bike, but a frame set is ok if the price is right.

Must be 700c*.

Sorry Robbie, thanks for the offer.

I have a pretty good set of Shimano RSX brakes (front and rear) that I'd like to trade for some similarly good *LONG REACH* brakes. Mine are dual pivot and in A-/B+ condition, just looking for something similar. They need to have a reach in the 1.75" to 2.25" range, whereas mine are 1" to 1.5".

I also have a complete, aside from bars, 70's Chiorda road bike with a 31" standover. It is orange and in pretty decent shape. ***FREE TO GOOD HOME***, all you pay is actual shipping. Downtube shifters, 27" wheels, and kind of a burnt orange in color.

Frameset of an '81 Schwinn Traveler, ~35" standover. Red fork, was a red frame but it's now partial stripped. Was going to have it powdercoated but ended up buying a new C&V complete instead. As the Chiorda above, this frameset is ***FREE TO A GOOD HOME***, all you pay is actual shipping. I also have a few bits for this as well if you want them (crankset, centerpull brakes, etc.).

Long ISO square BB spindle/axle

I am looking for a bottom bracket spindle to use a Stronglight 99 crank set on my Motobecane circa 70's.

Found one: Stronglight 65 S (123mm long)

Bikedued 11-17-08 06:30 AM

$50 would be reasonable, for one in excellent condition IMHO. If people pay that for beat up looking ones, then I might have a problem, lol:D,,,,BD

Okay I'm expanding my original post. I'm looking for any 700c clincher wheelset, for around $100. Alternatively, if you have just a front wheel you want to get rid of for cheap, I might be persuaded to leave the rear alone.

Also, my Turbo saddle is kind of breaking, so if you have one of those, I'd love a replacement.

RobbieTunes 11-17-08 07:14 AM

We have got to get our Canadian friend a bike that's all together. He and his 310 deserve it. :)

mtnwkr 11-17-08 07:57 AM

I got wheels and a turbo for him..

TheSojourner 11-17-08 08:36 AM

Anyone have some dual-pivot long reach brakes they'd like to get rid of? I have a perfectly good set of Shimano RSX brakes (silver, dual-pivot) that I'll trade you for them, or maybe something else if you don't need brakes?

cyclotoine 11-17-08 12:04 PM

ISO/WTB:

C-record rear skewer, I don't even need the nut, just the skewer with QR... it's the only thing holding me back from haveing a complete hub-set.

robtown 11-17-08 02:08 PM

ISO/WTB:

Alloy drop bars, silver, the kind that can be threaded through an old-style quill stem. Size 44 or wider will work.

I've been looking for some, but in 26.4
What size clamp do you need them to fit?

JRT 11-17-08 05:14 PM

25.2mm seatpost

25.2mm is a very odd size for a seatpost, but that is the ID of the seat tube on my Motobecane Grand Touring [circa 70's).

I would like to find one that size. Something vintage and French would be nice. I currently have a 25mm Simplex and one 0.2mm larger would be perfect.

Note that I don't need a long post. I have short legs and long arms so I have the largest frame I can stand over. This also means that I need a post that is round all the way up since it will only extend a few inches.

A vintage Japanese might be OK. The SR 'Custom' looks nice.

Guess who has one? :innocent:

But I'd need to trade it for a more vintage front QR. :D

These were never anodized so you could easily polish one to a better than new finish, since the finish was not very good to start with. I probably have one but it would have to be polished.

How 'bout this:

Make me an offer on a 50cm road bike, preferabbly closer to 20lbs than 30.

I've got lots of other wants but no real requirements:
1. Green is a nice color.
2. No major scratches is always nice.
3. No cotters is even better.
4. Italy and Japan are nice places.
5. I like campy. I like cage pedals. but I don't care much.

Go for it. Shoot, sports.
Let's deal.

Wanted to buy:

Shimano BR-MC70 Cantilever brakes, one or two pair.

Exit. 11-19-08 05:16 PM

ISO: Miyata dustcap for cranks ends. I am for some reason missing one.

top do you mean the aluminum chainrings with circular holes in the outer chainring? Got a pic of what you're looking for? I've got the full crank and chainwheel setup off my old Viscount. I'm gonna go dig around in the garage....just found it and it's 52/42.
