They came in a couple of different quill sizes as well. I'm guessing you're wanting the larger of them? What I mean is that the Huffy Aerowind came with them, and I tried installing a nicer stem once. The fork steerer was too small for the stem.,,,,BD

I think it's 22.2 on the Quill and 25.4 for thr bars?

Older U.S. Bikes were smaller right?

Looking for a set of Dia Compe Aero levers, preferably in white or gum hoods. Sticky and gunky works, I
can fix that. As long as they're pliable, and able to be removed from the lever without splitting. The prices on ebay are nuts,,... I just want a set of old road bike levers, not gold, lol.,,,,BD

Bikes: I've got a bunch...

I'm looking for some Dia Compe road levers, too. But I want them copper/bronze colored anodized...mid 80's.

Anyone?

I'm looking for any Tommasini pantographed stuff. I figure if I try all my angles I'll find someone out there who has at least somethin' cool lying around. PM me as I probably will forget to check this thread.

Also, a braze on campy front derailleur which is either nuovo/super record and a long cage rear.

6 speed would be Uniglide - is that what you want? or Hyperglide (Uni compatible OK)?

There's a guy on eBay that usually has Shimano HG50 126mm hubs in both 32 and 36h. They are damn close to 105 spec (I'm running them on two of my bikes at the moment) and will take both UG and HG cassettes. Do a search on 'Exage' and they'll turn up.

Either is fine. If I get a Uniglide hub, I'll just buy a 7-speed Hyperglide body to transplant onto it. I'm not sure Hyperglide even existed before 1989 or so (maybe even 1990 or 91). The most important part is the decent uality 126mm road freehub part. 6-speed, 7-speed, Uniglide, Hyperglide - that's just details.

Those have to be the rarest parts of the Golden Arrown group. I've had a couple pairs of the derailleurs/shifters - but only seen pictures of the brakes/levers. good luck.

I agree, the brakes are difficult to find -- especially the levers. I found some NOS levers a while back on ebay. The Shimano name is in gold across the front with no arrow logo. The calipers (I got mine from a trade here) have the arrow logo like the derailleurs, shifters, and crank arms.

I have a bike that has the derailleurs and shifters on it in the original setup, and have seen more of those items listed on ebay. Sugino or Sakae cranksets, Dia-Compe brakes, and Shimano or Suntour derailleurs/shifters were used commonly by the manufacturers on mid-range bikes back then, so a combination of all that stuff was most popular.

Here's a photo showing the Golden Arrow levers.

Wanted:

Nitto Dirt Drop stem (26.0 clamp)
Nitto Noodle 177 bars, 44 cm or wider

FOUND (thanks cyclotoine): Suntour ratcheting barcons - or - Shimano Ultegra 8 speed barend shifters

These are for a foul weather bike, so if they are cosmetically rough, no big deal. Just need functional, solid parts.

Bikes: Chesini X-Uno, etc.....

WANTED:
For my chrome Paramount rehab project I need:
-- A early 1970's-ish Campagnolo Record rear brake caliper in good shape -- nutted type with a 'C' in a diamond on the release lever.
-- Regina 5-speed freewheel, either a 14-16-18-23-26 or a 14-16-18-21-24. Oro type in good shape.

Also,
-- New Vredestein Fortezza Tricomp Tire 700x23c "Off Black" Design with Grey

I can trade for and/or purchase these items. Or if you point me to a shop that has them I would reward you kindly after I received them.

HAVE:
-- A nice set of Suntour Superbe brake levers and calipers
-- Weinmann brake levers that are copies of the Campy Record design with name on front. They are in nice shape.
-- Assorted quick release skewers; Simplex flat blade, Simplex, Maillard Spidel, Maillard with bike logo (no springs or end caps on any of them)
-- New Vredestein Fortezza Tricomp Tire 700x23c Black with Grey

I have a blue Peugeot PKN10E frame (with fork) as well that I would consider trading. Reynolds 531 tubing, 56cm per the original sticker on the BB (but I think it is closer to 57cm C-2-C). Head badge is missing. Paint is kinda nicked up but it isn't that bad.

EDIT: Added a couple of photos of what my front caliper looks like--I'm trying to find a rear one like it to match. It was on the Paramount when I got it. If it isn't Record please tell me what it is. Thanks.

That is a Nuovo Record caliper, yes, but it is a post-1977 example, as it has a domed Q/R lever. Pre-'77 had a flat Q/R lever.

Thanks for the news! I assumed it was original on the 1972 bike.

So, the Campagnolo brake calipers on a '72 Paramount P13-9 look like what? If someone could post a photo that would be great.

They look like this. Same thing, flat Q/R skewer.
