I have a Selle Italia Flite on a Campy aero seatpost on my Caldaro. Right now I have it set back about as far as I can, but my butt still hangs off the back. I could use about another centimeter of setback.

I'm hoping someone can recommend either a seat post or saddle (or perhaps both) that will allow me to scoot back another 10mm. I'd prefer to stay classic and Italian (so that rules out the Brooks and Fizik Arione saddles and the Thompson seatpost).

Could you go with a handlebar stem that's a centimeter longer? Not quite the same in terms of saddle to crank relationship, but one way to address the problem.

I've thought of that but as you say, it doesn't address the saddle to crank issue which is where I'm feeling it.

Where does your knee "pivot" fall in relationship with the crank when at the 90 degree forward position?

For the ultimate in vintage adjustability, locate a Brooks Campagnolo saddle, it has narrow rails with extremely extended adjustment, when used with the special Campagnolo Record narrow rail seat post, the ultimate in fore/aft adjustment. The easiest way to identify the seatpost is that the lower cradle trusses have Campagnolo cast into the sides.

I had no idea that there was such a thing as a Brooks Campagnolo. I'll do a search.

I think some of the fit issues I'm having with this bike stem from my having been used to the Trekish long-TT geometry. Both my modern 5200 and my old school 660 are 52 st and 54.5 tt, whereas the Caldaro is 53cm square.

The K Force does 35mm.

I'm using a CLB seatpost on my Masi GC (don't tell anyone!) for exactly this reason. once my butt is where my knees want it to be, I'm hanging off the back of the saddle! this ol' Masi has a 75 degree seat tube angle!

I use an Easton EA70 that has a good amount of set back
I am a Brooks only rider, so I need that extra as, has been noted, Brooks doesn't slide back quite so far as others

Oh, I was under the opposite impression--that Brookses had long rails. I must be thinking of something else.

Their rails are long enought, but I still needed more set back
