I've had three Japanese bikes. My current 1986 Club Fuji and the beautiful 1979 Centurion Pro-Tour that was wrecked a couple years ago have been posted in other threads, so I'll show off the third one here. It was a Maruishi Road Ace 7 from around 1984 with light use, and was gifted to me by the original dealer (who sold them out of his garage). He had it exchanged by the original customer for another frame after a season and kept it in his garage for a couple of decades. Maruishi built frames for many companies but only marketed bikes under the company name in small numbers and for a few years, so they're relatively rare.
I built it up with a mix of NOS and lightly used components, focusing on Shimano 600 EX, and used the crank set, BB, head set and wheels that were given to me with the frame. It was a fun bike to see come to life again and rode decently. Alas, it was a 57cm and I am most comfortable riding a ~60cm frame, so I sold it to the LBS owner...

Cherubim & Nagasawa at PBE
So fast-forward to today and next weekend's Philly Bike Expo (PBE), I'll be at booth #1059 and I'm adding Cherubim to the mix. Just got a sample/show Touring frame, and they're loaning me a former NAHBS show/pin-up bike, the Steel Master. Pix of the Touring here and on my flickr page, hope to build up the Steel Master today and post some pix later tonight.
So I'll have the two Cherubim and the two Nagasawas posted here a coupla months back on display. I'm also doing a Suntour/Japan seminar on Sunday at noon. I'll post a more complete, general announcement later in the day, after I sort out the Steel Master and get some more pix done.
Hope some of youse guys and gals are gonna make it PBE!

@pcb That Cherubim and the Nagasawas that you posted earlier are stunning! Bikes we seldom get to see.
I'd love to see them in person... but even if I started pedaling now I wouldn't make it to Philly in time.

These are my three bridgestones. I have a 1993 RB-1. I'm running it with a triple and 28c tires. It makes a fine long-distance machine. I have a 1993 XO-2. The bike came stock with drops; it is a road bike designed around 26 inch wheels. It makes a fine gravel grinder with 26 x 1.75 tires. I have a 1992 BB-2 which was their basic commuter. It makes a fine winter bike with studded tires.

I'm rapidly running out of Philly Bike Expo prep time, but I finally got the Steel Master together. Konno-san built this for NAHBS in 2010 or 2011. It has some true retro, some neo-retro and some bizzaro thrown in for fun. This has to go back to Japan after PBE, so VSOP (Very Special Onetime Performance). See it at booth #1059 this Sat-Sun.

Lotus Odyssey. The Sunshine Pro Am hubs are date stamped '78 on one, and '80 on the other. Probably an 80 or 81.

My recently acquired 1992 Bridgestone XO-2. I've been using it to commute, but soon the work begins... waiting for various parts to arrive.

I've been looking for a Lotus Cyclone frame to build up. The yellow one

Good luck! Lotus bikes don't seem to come up a lot, but are undervalued when they do. The Odyssey is such a nice bike. It rides fantastic and the parts Lotus built it with are really top notch for a 'light touring bike'.

Nice to see another Maruishi here. Do you know off-hand the year your frame was made?

I have actually no clue. I've searched Google far and far and I haven't found anything on this model. It's still a mystery to me. Any help would be appreciated. It's made of tange prestige if that helps
