Stronglight BB
Any Peugeot experts to comment on this. Will this jive in a mid 70s PX 10?

If your PX-10 has a BSC BB (English) which I doubt a mid '70s would...then it will fit. Assuming you need a FR threaded unit, I had one of these in a Gitane TdF and was very happy with it, I think the spindle length is about right for an older crankset, such as a Stronglight 93, but do check on that before you buy.You could also try *mashing* it into your FR bb, since the cups are alloy, but that's a one-shot deal and won't permit any maintenence.

You don't have to be a Peugeot expert to know that the BB in question will not fit a mid seventies Peugeot with French threads. I've noticed a lot of French thread conventional bottom brakets on Ebay lately. Try searching vintage parts.

What's wrong with the parts you have?

your px10 is french threaded and takes a french stem

118mm probably wouldn't be a good length spindle for a single ring anyway
if you really want to upgrade, go with a phil wood w/ french rings

It looks like you have very good chainline with whatever spindle length you're using now. Why do you want to change what you have?

If you want to go with a sealed unit, get Phil Wood mounting rings and either a Phil BB or a Shimano UN72 (works w/Phil Rings, tho Spindle/Crank compatability may be an issue with old SL cranks).

I believe your bike is actually a PX10E, BTW. Steeper angle on the headtube than a standard PX. I have one from the same year, also built as a fixie.
