Is this Mercier worth 100$?

I cant tell what the cranks are but the saddle looks nice... It is over a two hour drive. I want to talk the guy into a sweet deal. It looks it isn't reynolds steel. The tires almost look tubular. Any ideas as to the vintage and a reasonable offer? If we would sell the saddle only that would be awsome.

My guess is Ideale saddle, Solida crankset, and early '70s. Offer $60 -- you're paying probably $30 in gas just to go see it.

That's essentially a Peugeot UO-8 with half-chrome stays. I'll bet that Esge or Pletscher kickstand clamp has bent the chainstays. I wouldn't pay $100 for it, even if it were my size.

Is that the one from CL in the Bay Area?

Looks pretty sweet to me, its got lovely green paint and all the chrome you crave! If its your size I'd say go for it.. I'd probably swap out the steel cottered crank set for something else though.

Well, I don't know much about Merciers or anything really, but I think it looks great. I dig that green color -I bet it's metallic- and the high flange Normandies. The babes will run after you on that bike. And what's a hundred? It's half a dinner at a trendy restaurant, that's what.
