1984 Schwinn World Sport
For submission, a bike destined for perdition on the junk heap of our local recycling center. Saved in the nick of time. This is what 5 hrs. of labor cleaning and adjusting produced...

Good job! I have aladies world sport that was stolen, joy ridden and dumped in a canal. I'm fixing it up for my wife, I'll post some pictures when it's done!
I saved a mens version of that bike from a near certain stealing, joy riding and dumping a few weeks ago. It was leaning against the side of a guys porch for a couple of days unlocked. I stoped and inquired about it and purchased it for 5 dollars. I repaired the flats, repacked the headset, oiled and adjusted the derailers and sold it for 125 bucks. It was a nice bike, I rode it to work twice just for the hell of it. I probably should have kept it.

Bikes: have about 30 bikes right now
It's sad what some people throw away just for the need of cleaning. Sure like finding the stuff. Dont we all like the detective overhall? You know finding that one small problen that takes 10 minutes and $2 to fix but it side lined the bike for years and made is a steal at $1.

It's great that you saved that beautiful Schwinn. Nice job cleaning up that old lady. She looks great, almost like new.
But, I'm sad that someone would through that bike away instead of donating it to charity.

Great Job!
I just rode one on my first century. I love this thing for training.
I just put on a Brooks B-17 that I'm breaking in. I may put in wheels as I think the bearings are probably shot.
One guy that was working one of the planned food stops during the century was in love with it.

Bikes: Schwinn Traveler, Chimo Concourse, Next mountain bike, all crap!
Here's three bikes that were found in the garbage. All rode very well and needed nothing more than cleaning, tires or cables and/or adjustment here and there. Silly people.

That is a nice, clean World Sport. Hard to image it at the junk pile.
I bought an '84 Le Tour off CL from an outgoing college student for $25. It had original everything, and was a great way to learn how to repack the headset & BB. Now it's a comfy single speed. Feels high quality, and it's quite light. Stock bars are very narrow, though.
