NOS Hoods
Does anyone know if it's worth it to buy NOS hoods? I heard that they can become cracked more easily due to dried out rubber, similar to how some NOS leather straps will snap in half soon after purchase.

if youre talking about brown campy record brake lever hoods, the ones with the shield logo, they usually go for about 70$+ on Ebay a pair... so if you can get some for less, take them

I know there are those who poo-poo me, but I've been putting ArmorAll on my hoods since it came out. Still have the original Campagnolo hoods on my 1984 Cinelli after years and many, many miles...

I bought a pair of Modolo hoods, one of which shredded on me first time I tried put it on my Super Record levers. Sigh. The next one I coated liberally with dish soap and it went on ok.
