Need help from Peugeot fans
I have found a Peugeot earlier today, it has almost all of the parts bent, except for the frame itself, which is intact, and doesent have any rust. I asked on bike mechanics forum, if it was worth getting fixed, and putting a 100$ bill into it, but some said that its better to ask here, the fans of Peugeot, if the bike is worth it. I found only one photo on google of the same bike, except that the shifters are placed higher, and has no fancy handlebar. https://www.europacycle.com/DSCF0046.JPG

I will take some pics tomorrow (Though I have absolutly NO idea how to add them in here...) But on the pic, it is the same bike, except that the shifters are placed higher, and it has no red handlebars. You have to come to canada one day... hundreds of good bikes laying around the city, rusting and just laying there forever... I find about 2 abandoned vintage cruisers every day, mostly Raleigh and Schwinn.

Yes, those ones, simplex shifters by the stem. And the the paint scheme is exactly the same, no difference in colour, decals, the scheme. Even the shape is the same, and details.

It has as well, Weinmann brakes, which were made in France, from what I could read on the label.
I have weinmann wheels on my other bike, one from france and the rear one is from belgium =\, but have no idea if its a good brand or anything

If it does not then it would be questionable to spend $100.
Shifters on handlebars = low end

Stem shifters indicate a lower-end bike, such as UO-8/9/10.

Guy walks into an LBS with money to burn. He always buys the best even it's not right for him. Example, he's got a pair of ski boots he never wears because they're too damn uncomfortable. He chose them over a pair costing half as much that felt twice as good.
So anyway, it's the later 70's and asks the LBS staff to show him the best Peugeot "10 speed" they've got. He wants a Peugeot because he's heard of them. They pull out a PX10 that fits him. He says it's great but he doesn't want to have to reach way down to shift, he wants shifters on the stem.
Staff person shows him a UO8/9/10. Customer says, "Yeah I like that. How much? What?, Why is it so much cheaper than the other one?"
Staff person explains. Customer wants the best but wants stem mounted shifters. He asks staff person if they can be put on the PX10. Staff person hesitates, but then says, "I guess we could do that"

Yes; and I've seen more than one Schwinn Paramount with both stem shifters and suicide levers. Never a PX, but that don't mean they're not out there.
I've also found Dura-Ace on a base level Huffy, Simplex retrofrictions on a UO 8, and various other oddities in my time.
So pix are nice, a description of any tubing decals is good. Not all hi end Pugs have half-chromed rears (See 1979 PX).

I have added pictures on my website https://international-citizen.piczo.com -> Bikes -> Peugeot
I have noticed that the bike was actually sold twice. It has one sticked on top of other, two different bike shops. And that might eplain why it had japanese and korean wheels with certain shimano parts, instead of Weinmann.

And can anyone tell me if my Velo Sport is any good? You can find it on the same website, but under peugeot page. I have payed 50$ for it last year, because I really needed a road bike, though have no idea of how good or bad it is

Bikes: have about 30 bikes right now
People change up on parts all the time. I picked up a uo10 because it fit good and I got it for trade on a $.50 bike that was too small. It now has shimano 600 derailers and crank, suntour superbe brakes and levers, sakai custom anatomic bend handle bars, french leather seat with aluminum post. Sure looks like a px10 to me. The wheels are original rigada for now.

I can say, with complete 100% certainty, that you have a UO-8. Mid 70's vintage.
The headlugs with the stepped design are the giveaway.
As bent as that rear triangle is, I would not ride it.

Bikes: 62 Falcon, 58 Raleigh Lenton Gran Prix, 74 Raleigh Pro, 75 Raleigh Int, 75 Raleigh Comp, 76 Colnago Super, 75 Crescent, 80 Peugeot PX10, plus others too numerous to mention!
Pretty much bottom of the line Peugeot here. For as much as you could pay to have the frame staightened and new parts, you could buy maybe 3 or 4 others that did not require that much work!

Yep, UO8 all the way. I had a UO8 when I was an undergraduate in the late 70s and rode it, successfully on the Cross Florida Bike Ride (168 miles) in 1980, kick stand and all.
The dead giveaway for that model were the two very large, non-threaded eyelets on the 1/2-chrome fork, one eyelet on the dropouts, plastic Simplex shifters, steel cottered crankset, and steel rattrap non-quill pedals.
I paid $35 for mine in 1979 and question whether I paid too much for it back then. They have not increased in value.
