Need Info on GT Edge Frame & Excell Tubing

I recently purchased this GT Edge frame. I believe it is a 1994 model. It's made from Excell tubing (see decal) and has Henry James dropouts. Anyone know anything about these frames or the type of tubing? Know where I might find a brochure or catalog regarding the frame?

Thanks

Bikes: Nishiki Nut! International, Pro, Olympic 12, Sport mixte, and others too numerous to mention.

I would guess it's a bit recent for us, but does anyone have any info for PBR Streetgang?

Thanks, East Hill. I know it's a bit recent, but C&V seems to have people that are interested in all bikes and I thought someone might have some info. For example, 1990's Miyatas are not exactly C&V, but I bet T-Mar could tell me all I need to know about them. Thanks again.

Bikes: Gt Edge road bike (retro-new ) and 06 specialized Epic marathon.

I tried no success

Well I have a 1999 version of that frame... it didn't have an excell tubing decal. i called GT and asked them about my frame GT edge steel 1999. they said anything pre-bankruptcy is like ancient history and they have absolutely NO information. I'd have better luck contacting my LBS that deals in GT... which would be performance bike.... uh no.

So good luck .

Bikes: Motobecane Mirage fixed gear, Nashbar Alpha Road 5000, Bianchi Grizzly, Coppi Fiorelli, , Schwinn Trike, , GT All Terra, Old Peugeot, Nishiki 3 speed, Bugatti, Cannondale Black Lightning, Dura All, Bianchi Touring, Bridgestone T700 & more

I don't know anything about the frame or tubing other than it kicks some serious a*s. I am totally jealous. I have never found one in my size but if I did I'd pay some serious cash for it.........
Love it.

Well it does kick some ass. I built mine up with an o7 rival group. and it's pretty sick. Every thing is blacked out color wise. wheels, brakes, frame, seat + post, bars, for, stem...only parts on bike that aren't black are the derailuers, crankset, and shifter/brakes. It's sick. But all stealthness aside.

It does have an issue. The seatstays are welded in two places the seat tube and the top tube. ( triple triangle ) the welds to my top tube just broke ( very cleanly ) off of the top tube. I mean both seat stays... but they look like they were barely welded on anyway and a friend told me this frame had some issues with it. But I'm getting it re-welded this week and it should be back on the road with-in a few weeks.
I'll post pics when I can.

Well I heard that the ride on the GT triple triangle frames really does do some ass kicking.

The white decals and excell tubing definitely mark it as a 1994. I don't know much about the tubing, but it was high end for the time, heat treated and butted. Love the fillet brazing. The complete bike came with a full dura-ace group and was second from the top of the line behind the titanium version. Built in the US. Paint is Imron.

Geometry for the '95 model was 58 was 74 head tube angle, 73 seat. 57.5cm TT, 99.09cm wheel base, 40mm fork offset.

Mine frame when i got it came with Dura-ace stuff on it. Headset and Bottom bracket. Both were toast. and it came with the GT edge carbon fork which I've already replaced, it's hard finding 1" steerer carbon forks

the frame seemed to fair well. And the guy I got it from said it came with full dura ace when he got it. But he kept everything else.

Bikes: I used to have many. And I Will again.

+1 on finding good 1" CF forks.
I have a short steerer GT Aero Edge CF fork NOS. It's going on my 54cm Specialized Sirrus rebuild which lost its fork to a car collision.
I'd love to have a GT frame one day. Do post lot's of pics of the finished results.

The Carbon fork I got off Ebay. Not the best. but it was brand new. It's a kinesis, nothing totally special. I paid $88 for it.
