Old vs New****************************************
I recently purchased a vintage Guerciotti, campagnolo super record everything, modolo brakes, s. marco saddle, everything original. i was curious cause now im starting to have second thoughts on my purchase, my question is if i was to sell this and purchase a more modern bike, $700-$800 limit new or used, would i notice a considerably large difference in my performance or would it by minimal and not worth the trade? This is my only bike, and i try to ride as much as possible, advice? thx

I take it your Guerciotti is a steel frame, probably SLX or Columbus something and rides very smooth and tight.
In my opinion, you may see even less of a benefit/difference except in brifter shifting from a newer bike in the sub 1k range. A trek 1000 or similar would be a logical choice in upgrading (with stated funds) and personally I'd rather ride a steel beauty of top notch quality like you have.
Campy record of yesteryear is still top notch stuff.....I have a 1991 Basso Lotto with campy record, same saddle as you, campy delta brks, yipsilon wheels with the best verdestein tires.....what a ride.
Just my two cents

Bikes: Nishiki Nut! International, Pro, Olympic 12, Sport mixte, and others too numerous to mention.
Perhaps you could show us photos?
Have you thought about changing saddles? Are you wearing cycling specific clothing whilst riding, or are you wearing jeans?
I agree with ThinLine, I doubt you would see much improvement with a modern bike, especially in what is really a lower end bike at your stated price range.
