Found this one on freecycle. It was on its way to the scrap yard if no one wanted it. So we proudly adopted it. 1967 Schwinn Breeze 3 speed.

Looks to be in surprisingly good condition for having been overgrown with plants. Nice catch.

what model is that goose??

xddorox 10-15-08 04:49 PM

Here's mine. Raleigh Sports made between 1956 and 1958. From what I can figure out, the Brooks saddle was original to the bike.

How much would it take for me to get you to part with that thing so it can be brought back from that unfitting state it is currently in?

+100 That's the first thought I had, lol.

Marrock 10-15-08 08:15 PM

I was going to say something about preferring it's original form but decided against it.

tashi 10-16-08 12:13 AM

Nothing cut off, bike being ridden & enjoyed.

Looks good too. Well done.

I'm never selling that bike. I know that some of you hate what I did to it and some of you like it, that's perfectly fine with me. However, it's mine and I love it very much just the way it is.

Peace :)

Peugeot hybrid fork. I painted it with DuPont Centari, Chevy Truck White. I use it as my heavy-duty touring, commuting, ruff-stuff rig.http://velospace.org/files/phpT8CQnEAM.jpg

Did the TDF really have canti bosses? It sure didn't in the 80's

He replaced the fork, and had them added in the rear.

I guess it pays to read the entire post :)

Well I guess you won't like this one either. 1950 CCM. Like the Raleigh, I kept the original finish by laying a few coats of lacquer over it ( ok, I did lay some pinstripes over it) and I built a new set of wheels using the original hubs.

However, apart from those sins, I did restore a 1951 BSA to pristine condition and managed to keep it 95% original ( I had to replace the front tyre). Unfortunately, I have no pictures since this was before going digital and I sold it to a collector shortly after. I didn't enjoy the ride.

Marrock 10-16-08 08:43 PM

What do you have against fenders?

xddorox 10-16-08 08:47 PM

They clutter the bike too much when you want to showcase the frame itself. I like fenders in certain applications, like this one:
