Here's a component level "Before and After"

Huret friction shifters from a 1976 Motobecane Grand Jubile.

This is the result from about 20 hours submerged in Evaporust:

Oh my that's quite a before-and-after if I've seen one.

The best parts were that the bike was on a rural property and I had a full tool kit with me... so I unbolted the rusty cart and left it behind on the farm ... and the frame was undamaged by the addition of the cart - the cart was simply bolted onto the frame without any alteration to the forged drop outs or to the top of the seat tube.... and the price, which was $20 Canadian (about $15 US).

The front seat tube is 23 inches (58cm) and the rear is 21 inches (53cm).

The Cambio Rino seat posts required a bit of penetrating fluid & persuasion to get moving (Acetone & ATF) but other than that, and the fact that it needed a rear wheel, an entirely rewarding and extremely low-cost fun project.
I have no one to ride it with so I ride it solo.

Bikes: 2010 Schwinn Madison, 1994 Kona Lava Dome, 1991 Quattro Assi, 1990 Bottecchia Team ADR SL

Met a guy at the x-mas parade in town through a friend. He said to me "You like to fix bikes? If you fix my 3 hybrids for the family I'll give you my old racing bike" So I'm sure when you hear that like me you think oh, let me have that Schwinn Varsity! LOL

Guy shows up with the hybrids and.... a 1991 LeMond TI 3-2.5 !! Been sitting in his garage for 15 years untouched including when he moved his boat around and he forgot it behind the house in the elements for about a month...

I went all out. I happen to live next to one of the Performance stores that closed and I got a set of Reynolds R4 rims at 65% off!

obrienwspt I like your style. That Fuji ('70s vintage!) looks great! STIs on that old of a frame, done well, is something I very much approve of!
