Just want to keep the thread moving backward or forward whichever comes first....'Been riding my '87 Miami everyday for months and months. It really is a great riding bike. comfortable, quick and nicely stiff uphill. Someday I'll dress it in original equipment. Found it as a frame, fork, rear deraileur and shifters. Added some Araya 27" rims and '83 Shimano BB and cranks just get her moving. And my Brooks B17 which is the only saddle I use.

I purposefully left the saddle that low (as it came when I got it yesterday) so that the after picture will be that much more dramatic! I took the bike down to the frame this morning and played with a small area with some rubbing compound and it cleaned up nicely - so I am looking forward to the end product!

I'm not sold yet on the blue tape and blue saddle because they are different blues form each and each different from the frame... so not as well matched as I would have hoped. I also have an '85 (61cm - huge bike) that was also complete so I robbed the rear brake cable from it to make the new shifter cables for the brifiters.
I am tempted to put a black saddle and black bar tape. But it is done for the moment at least.

not so much a 'restoration' as more of a 'fixup a neglected' Peugeot 1987 PE10N Premiere
although living in a rural location in Scotland, i don't actually get opportunities for 'barn-finds'
so pay a premium for shipping costs, typically about £30 from London
but this one came up in a nearby village......

binned the wheels, and replaced chain, saddle, cables etc
after a relube of everything - it runs very nicely and becomes my 'daily'

ride safe.....................................john

Not C&V, but this is my main forum, and we do have some modern rides too.
This was an unexpected one that fell into my lap. I had no idea what model it was until it was delivered. I love my C&V, but I had to bow down to modernity with this all-rounder.
And appropriate, since I had a 1989 Sirrus road bike that is one of my casualties of my stolen old collection. Funny how karma works out.

Picked this '83 Bianchi Special up off CL last week.
Before:

All dis-assembled and cleaned. Swapped wheels for a 700c set I had around. Swapped stem, bars and levers for a set I had all taped up and ready for another project. Dyed saddle and brushed it up with the brass. All new cables. Been riding it every day since I finished, it's definitely faster and more agile now!

Superbe long reach brakes and levers I had no use for until now.

It cleaned up pretty well. MKS sylvans I had around.

I scraped all the disintegrating decals off and used some scratch doctor on the whole thing. Really brought the sparkle back!

These Japanese Bianchis are really under - rated and overlooked... their construction level is very high although not quite top tier in regard to the lug finishing but in many cases they are as nice or nicer than their Italian counterparts.
Consider that an 80's Bianchi running Campagnolo would not have shifted as nicely as a Bianchi fitted with Suntour parts and that the 022 tube sets were the equivalent of 531...
