Peugeot decals...major score!!!

I bought the lot primarily for the specification manual (big black binder) and the micro fiche. The original decals are a nice bonus. The black binder has every model, with pictures and details, for the year 1970. If its not in there Peugeot didnt make it. It will come in handy when trying to date the early 70's Peugeots. I already have one for '74 and something similar for '73. Before its asked...YES.

Oh man! What a GREAT find, and so cool that you are willing to share that knowledge with us.

Is there a story behind this?

No big story other than scouring Ebay. I snipped it for a very reasonable price. With that binder I have '61-'64, '66, '70, '73 and '74 all with dates. Peugeot didnt change their bikes too much in that time period so everything is more or less covered. From '74 on yearly dated catalogs are available completing the timeline from '61-'87. I have a variety of stuff from 1901-2001.

This is whats in the binder:

1970

1961-62

Not even close. I have the 80's stuff down only because I worked in a Peugeot dealer from '84-'96. The 60's and early 70's....well, I wasnt born until '67.

When did you gain the power to read minds? I know miamijim has his own website he might want to do some updates on based on some of his newly aquired information first so wasn't going to say anything. And I actually haven't built the frame / bicycle section of velobase yet anyways.

Still an awesome find that I'd love to see more of.

I have no problems contributing I'm just not to sure what you may want. As far as updating my website....I'm waiting for a few more things. Once those arrive I need to inventory and re-organize what I have. A major update is in works.

Flat decals would be a lot easier to scan and reproduce than taking a picture of a decal on a bike.

Is that a hint? (As I look over at the 4800d.p.i. scanner to my left)

No kidding!,

That could be an incredible resource for Peugeot decal artwork!

I second that (or is that third) since CycloMondo's Peugeot decals don't match my old UO-8.

Hey I know its been a long time since this was posted but was wondering if I could get some help. I have a 1974 UO18 Peugeot, I finally decided to restore. A while back I had done research into decals and realized the ones available did not match. The order of colored stripes is not the same. I forgot to write down or take a picture before sending to get sandblasted. Also looking at pics online doesn't allow me to zoom in enough to see the exact order. Would you be able to tell me the order of colored stripes on seat tube? I would really appreciate it, thanks.
