Date this Peugeot?

https://www.flickriver.com/photos/cla...7625924693001/

Not mine, but I just picked up a Peugeot 650b Randonneur with an identical headbadge (this example is the only other one like it I could find on the net) and very similar lugs, generator and components. I'd post pics but my camera's out of whack right now and I'd love to know if it's 50's or 60's. Much appreciated!

I'm afraid the bike in you link won't help to date your Peugeot. You'll need to show a pic of the actual bike you bought.

The bike in the link is from 1962/63, as only within these two years Peugeot used that kind of Peugeot typographie on the downtube. The headlugs, on the other hand, were used during the 50's 60's, and well into the 70's. Also, this kind of Peugeot badge on the steering tube was used during most of the 1960's.

Bikes: 1986 Alan Record Carbonio, 1985 Vitus Plus Carbone 7, 1984 Peugeot PSV, 1972 Line Seeker, 1986(est.) Medici Aerodynamic (Project), 1985(est.) Peugeot PY10FC

The "Aztec" style head lugs look like they are the same ones used on the UO8. Not sure how far back those lugs go, but most likely 60's.....

Thanks, that's helpful. The original owner said "late 50's early 60's" so '62 or '63 would make sense. My Randonneur was repainted in the 80's so the decals will be of no help anyway. That being said, even the headset in the one pictured is the same as mine. I will get pictures ASAP, the bike is a lot of fun!
