I just wanted to express how grateful I am to gr23932, who sent me this nice TA bottle cage and would not even let me pay shipping.

Are you the guy who needed the tops of the cage?

^^ yes.

BTW, going out riding tomorrow in your old hood.

Also, did you see this? The proposed Chicago Olympics road racing course, from Madison to Blue Mounds.

They didn't get it, but I don't like the course selection.

State street through Campus Drive and University Ave? How ugly and disgusting is that? I've done that route thousands of times on a scooter or in a car. Just fugly.

They would have been much better off making a case for the epic hills around Dodgville or using the 'Dairyland Dare' or 'Horrible Hilly Hundred' routes. Jeez, even going up into Door County, or anywhere but that dreary stretch from State ST across Univ. Ave.

I still can't believe that was a proposed route for an Olympics road course. Thank goodness Chicago didn't get the bid!

free park Chain CM-5

Free for the cost of postage: a used Park Tool Cyclone Chain Scrubber, model CM-5. Has crackly plastic all over the bottom, but this still held liquid without leaks when I last used it (long ago), apparently some solvent in the lubes did not agree with the polycarbonate plastic, but the crackling does not seem to go all the way through the shell. I may have an extra brush wheel (or 2) and will throw that in if/when I find it.

EDIT: It's taken.

Free to a good home for the cost of postage:
* CrMo threadless stem. Not pretty but plenty strong, fits 1" (NOT 1 1/8) steerer and 26 bars. DOESN'T ANYONE WANT THIS POOR UGLY STEM?!?!?!?!?
* Small Cannondale under-saddle clip on bag. Big enough for a spare tube, etc. Lime green and black and needs a little cleaning, but hey, if you need one... (edit: gone and mailed )
* Older CatEye halogen headlight. Old. Uses C batteries, but works fine, with mount (edit: gone and waiting for postage to mail)
* Profile brand aero bars. In good shape but need arm pads. I will never use these, but perhaps some triathalon wannabe out there would like to give 'em a go (edit: gone and mailed )

Pay It Forward readers: May I respectfully ask that when you want to PM/email another member about an item that you read the post carefully and make sure you are responding to the correct member?

I've had a couple of responses to my PM sent messages that had to have some of the original post attached for clarity in my opinion and I've been asked if I still had the item?

While I don't mind sending you off to the correct person it probably would be critical in some cases to go back and find the correct post. For those who might be in a hurry, note that the quote box lists the name of the member quoted and if you click on the little blue icon next to the name you will be sent to that post.

These offers can go at lightspeed so always make sure you are always making sure...

or you could just say "Rollfast, I sent you a PM" without quoting the original post, thus eliminating the confusion.

Ok - here you go. Instant wardrobe for the larger man. I have 4 XL men's jerseys, used but in good shape. They all measure about 21" armpit to armpit. These were given to me by a fellow BF member, but I'm over-run with jerseys so I'm passing them along.

I've got Spiderman, Brooklyn Chewing Gum, A red one with a big Canadian nickel on the chest, and a pretty sharp looking Sean Kelly Tour - Ireland".

Tic-toc folks - the clock is running and they won't last long.

****GONE****

At 8:27 PM. They lasted all of 2 minutes.

Free Death Fork. Good condition, taken off a 56 cm Viscount Aerospace. Shipping will be a bit high since it's large and heavy, but if you're willing to pay it then this embarrassing piece of cycling history can be yours.

Gone.

Frame builder's special: I've got a late 70's Fuji somethingorother, fully chromed (I use that term loosely), that was involved in a front end crash, it seems. Would need the top and down tubes replaced. The fork steerer is also bent back, but could likely be reset or sawn and welded back?

Oh yeah, great fixed gear material. Only braze-ons are fender eyelets.

Pick up in Northern NJ only!

Sorry, the Superbe components aren't included!
