I am offering a broken wheel. Bontrager made. It had a 10-speed cassette on it, and it was built with 24 spokes. The rim broke. I offer the hub or the hub plus spokes. You won't want the rim. Notice the spoking pattern. Pay me the shipping cost.
All of the pictures are here https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/pw...-no?authuser=0 Not interested in the wheel, just geometry. |

That raises the interesting (to me) question of, what's the most efficient packing method? Discard the rim, and put the hub+spokes rotated all parallel into a large enough shipping tube? Hub in a small box, spokes in a tiny shipping tube?

Literally "saved from the dump". A POS trunk rack sitting there with a shopping bag tied on the side. Seemingly no one looked in the bag. It contained a couple of bungee cords, cargo straps, unopened tube patch kit, a pair of barely used white Christophe toe straps and a pair of chromed toe cages and this. I've no need for it so Pay it Forward.

You'll have to figure out what size is needed. You'll see that it does have the wheel attachment which looks like it clips into three spaces between first spoke crosses. Just the thing for your Gitaine or Moto restoration, eh? Will fit in small USPS flat rate box. Oh, there was also a nice Performance wood handle, dual head floor pump sitting there. Works AOK and the gauge is accurate. Not a bad "Saved from the dump" day. |
Earlier this week I posted some things that were going to the scrapyard from my co-op. I pulled out a few "for parts" items that may help someone out. These are two Shimano shift levers that I saved. Free for cost of postage, Probably $5. Smiles, MH

As I continue to try and clean up here in the shop I have a pair of fenders that were take-offs from a Trek 720 touring bike that had frame damage from a front end crash. They are taking up space and nothing here is in need of fenders. Free but cost of shipping probably about $20 but less than a pair of new ones. Same old rules, first to PM is first in line. Smiles, MH
https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...13c773475b.jpg Reasonable condition and all hardware is there. Both front and rear. |

Looks like Brian and Skip are gonna take the shifter parts and fenders. But don't worry there will be more "Junk from My Trunk" coming soon. Smiles, MH

Calling all Canucks: 5kg of treasure / crap
I have a Canada Post flat rate box that I will fill with up to 5kg of treasure. If you have a Canadian mailing address, send me a PM and I will put your name in a random draw to receive the treasure, gratis. Cutoff for entry is 6pm MDT April 4, 24.
This picture partially shows some of the treasure you will receive: Cheers. Brad |
Ok Canuck kids: Last call for your chance to receive 5kg of treasure as per post #1619 above.
Cheers. Brad |
Three responses. The ‘lucky’ winner resides in Nova Scotia so the box of treasure will be sent that way tomorrow.

Free 56 c to c, 56 tt Davidson frame. Columbus, I think, Cinelli BB.
What’s the catch? It’s got rust on the drive side seat stay. I could get it fixed, but the fix plus paint is more than I want to put into this. I can’t (yet) put it in the dumpster so if there is someone who wants to fix it or always wanted to try their hand with a torch, here’s your chance. You pay shipping. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...186bc5e7c.jpeg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...282def43f.jpeg https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...ddd6d43f9.jpeg |

Beginner's wheel building kit
Have you always wanted to build your own wheels but didn't know how to get started? Are you embarrassed that Kyle, the son of your riding buddy Eric doesn't ride bikes unless forced to, but manages to keep his dad's wheel's true? Well, if this is you, have I got a deal for you! For the low, low price of shipping, you too can learn to build wheels for fun and profit. Here's what you get:
Johnny, show the folks what the lucky bidder gets. Just look at all the nooks and crannies for spoke wrenches, wayward nipples and spoke prep. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...b27b6a7b56.jpg The spokes and nipples for the front wheel have been cleverly attached to the rim so you don't have to sort front from rear. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...54bf71b856.jpg I'd never heard of Kaga before (apparently neither has Velobase), so you get to do your own research on this extremely rare rim. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...5b00974f89.jpg The rear spokes are sorted left v right, but you'll need to pick up a couple at your LBS or co-op. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...f245cc0acc.jpg |

Box of Stuff draw
I just received a nice flat rate box from Stevensb as the winner of his draw. Some really fine bit's and bobs like an Ofmega sealed BB unit, a new looking Cinelli 2A (I believe), a triple crankset, Campy 8 cassette, tools and more.
I'll be certain to do the same for our North of the 49th members. $24 sends 4 kg of stuff across the country. Awesome Brad. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...81c6898f5b.png |
Sorry to be a wet blanket, but can we merge this thread into the other Pay It Forward thread? I don't think we need two, do we?

Available: Shimano 105 cranks, chain ring, cassette, rim brakes
Available: Shimano 105 cranks, chain ring, cassette, rim brakes
Does anyone want - Shimano 105 brake set, crank/chainring, front mech, cassette and rear mech - for rebuilding an old bike??? And is this the right forum? Took the pieces off an old broken carbon fibre Trek road bike frame and have no use for the components. Seems a waste to junk them into landfill. You can have the wheels as well. - Front and rear mech. Shimano 105 Cranks. Shimano FC-1055 Chainring. Cassette. - Front and rear rim brakes, and levers. Shimano SLR-S (? or SLR-5?) - Wheels. I’m in Melbourne, Australia. Free to a good home, but pls pay postage. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...0f3045ca7.jpeg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...47b6fbd64.jpeg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...ac0f6f0aa.jpeg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...f2c74f8c5.jpeg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...2b7ad80c2.jpeg |
