Well...What the heck. I've got a 52cm Nishiki I converted to a 700c machine with a SA 3 speed rear and dynohub front. I'm willing to give it to anyone who wants to pick it up with a minor catch....
I'm keeping the seat, brakes, bag and the cable guide with the pulley in it.
What it's got:
)Wheelset: Only the front has seen a brake for about 50 miles. The rims are 700c CR18's. As mentioned it has a Dynohub. I haven't checked it and it needs a bearing adjustment. The rear hub is a crappy SA 3 speed with coaster brake. After I got it dialed in it shifted fine but I HATE the brake. The front wheel is slightly out of true. The tires are OK.
)Cranks: Shimano tricolor 600 with a new ring (50 miles old actually).
I'll include a used SA AW and an extra Dynohub as well as a care package of new and used parts for them from my stash of spares. You'll get the seatpost, stem and bars too.

I decided after kinda building the bike I didn't like it and I'm sick of it hangin' around.....Pick up only. First to PM me gets it.

Can anyone use some early Uniglide bits? You know, the splined type. I have a hub marked Shimano DD(32 hole I think) with freehub(works, 6 speed I think) and 5 sprockets plus the 3 tiny bolts that hold it together. $5 shipping ought to get it to you.

Bound for the snowbank unless someone can use one or both or parts off of these, I picked them up for the wheels and a stem, seats and handlebars were already gone. The World Tourist has that old freewheeling crankset on it with the fixed rear cluster. I'll throw in that rear wheel, I needed the fronts for other projects here. I haven't measured them.

Receiver takes care of any shipping costs.

If no interest I'll remove the headbadges and stick them in the snowbank by the sidewalk out front with "free" on them. The local salvage folks make regular loops around here.

update 2: sticking this one off in a corner until the rummage season hits, PM me if you're local and interested in it as I don't think it's worth shipping costs.

If anyone is thinking ... ooh -- cheap fixed gear wheel ... this won't work for that.

Nope, won't work. Those clusters weren't "fixed" they were just
stiff freewheels. This was a safety feature. If you were to catch a
trouser leg, shoelace or appendage in the moving drivetrain, the

As a side note, in the past I've thought about taking one of the freewheeling cranksets and using it on a modified tandem of some sort. It would allow the stoker to pedal or not pedal at their choosing while allowing the Capt'n to keep on pedaling, thinking of a child on back that might not have the spin in their legs to keep up with dad/mom/gramps/grams on front. Not something I want to get into right now, but I would be willing to chop the frame up some to reduce shipping costs if someone just wanted the BB assembly to play with.

I might also try to remove the stiffwheel (as opposed to calling it a freewheel or fixed) and see if the hub has anything close to a more standard threading on it to accept more normal gearing.

I'll sit on these for the week before I snowback/curb them just in case anyone is giving these things any thoughts.

I might have to go dig out that Atomic Zombie book, or post these up in the alt-cycling group....

Just came across a bunch of 26" ATB rigid forks w/canti brake mounts. Assorted sizes, I need to go through them all to make sure, but I think they are all 1 1/8" threaded. If you can pay shipping that would be great. I'll repost with sizes and pics..

^Could I fit one in a bike with an original steertube using a .833 (21.1mm) stem? If so, I'd be interested and might be able to pick it up as I travel in your area 3-4 times a year.

I'm not sure. I think that would take a 1" threaded. I'll look tonight and see what all I have. I think there are a couple of 700c and 20" BMX forks in the the bunch also. I'll let you know..
