Gigantic Apollo

I picked this old Apollo up for the 27 inch wheels and freewheel, but it seems almost a shame to strip it as it is in such nice condition.
The frame is a 68 and although my oldest boy thinks he is tall, he cannot straddle this enormous old Apollo.
Maybe there is some young giant out there hankering for a humongus frameset.

I can't really tell by the picture, but does it have stamped or forged dropouts?
The Prestige that I once had, was NOT chromoly (as the sticker on yours states) and it had stamped drops. Maybe I am getting confused with the Prestige XL?....

I think it has forged dropouts. But I may be wrong.
Here is a pic.

Yes, they are forged. They should be Kuwahara branded.

That looks about the size of a cheap Peugeot I came about in the trash one day, oddly enough it was missing the seat post and seat just like so. What the hell is that thing bolted by the front wheel hub?

It's some kind of belt driven odometer.
I bought it from an LBS and since I was buying it for the wheels I didn't mind if they kept the seat.

This gigantic frame will hopefully be traded to young (giant) Tommy in Washington but I have run into a problem.
Because of the size of the frame, boxing it becomes a problem.
I boxed it up for a shipping quote only to be told that it exceeds Canada Post's size limits.
So I brought it back home and will now try to find a smaller box but this will limit the amount of protection I can give the frame. I have never had to box a frame this big before.
I am going to try again on Monday and hopefully the box is allowed and the shipping is reasonable or the frame may languish in nowhere land.
