My First Road Bike.
I really don't know if its a good bike yet, cause of the weather... i can't exactly ride it.
But all the parts work, so i'm happy. This summer it will be cleaned, if not sooner.
Paid 50eu for it. Just got it last night.
Parts:
All that i can pick out:
RD and FD are both Suntour Cyclone M-II's (which means nothing to me, i know nothing)
The crank and chain rings are Gipiemme or something (Italian)
Pics (i will be posting the same pics in a few other topics) yes, i know some pics are useless... too lazy to filter them out.

I don't know if everyone else is better than I am, but I can't figure out what it is! What kind of bike is it?

It is made, or rather imported and rebadged by Tunturi, a finnish sporting goods brand. The finnish made tunturis were all welded, the brazed frames I have seen (Retki, Retki SL) are rebranded peugeots. The italian/japanese component mix indicates that it was built up here though.
50e is a decent price if it's in good working order wich it looks to be from the pics.

Looks like a perfectly fine steed, albeit the stem looks unpossibly high!

Please find a solid background if you plan to take more pics. These are hurting my eyes trying to
make out what's the bike from the background. Sharp looking bike though, Cyclone M-II is pretty
nice equipment. I think from third from the top of the Suntour line?,,,,BD

I should take better pics... i took these this morning after waking up... and i didn't feel like riding out some were in my shorts. (-5c). so i just took some shots in the bike garage and 2m outside the bike garage, the playground. And today im going out to do some spectroscopy with plants (and LN2!)... so no time. ill see what i can find. I will replace the original posts up top if i get better pics.

seems like you really know your bikes. i didn't even know that.
And about the stem, i got one that points down, but i want to polish it a bit before using it. and i will put it on once i take the "cockpit" apart for a cleaning.

Nice bike. I like the Weinmann Carrera brakes, too. I have a set on one of my less-used bikes and like them a lot.

Just a note, the grease (its grease) used for the drive train is really sticky and thick. i want a new chain soon, but first gotta clean drive components,
Never heard of Weinmann, cause i don't get around, but any who, from what ive felt, these really stop you good.
I'm not sure how old they are but they are very powerful.
I saw some Campalago or something, they looked really nice. i think it was on that chromed out bike some were here in the vintage forum (love that bike).

Yeah that looks like a real nice bike. Like the seat tube lug. What time were those gas-station pix taken? Bet you're looking forward to the days getting longer.

It does look nice, and little used too :-) The forged dropouts hint at it being a very high end frame for Tunturi! Good score for 50e I'd say.

OH man forgot to say, i have never had such a light bike. Its crazy! (even though its probably heavy to all you weight freaks)
-----
How do you know the dropouts are forged (whats that mean lol, googleing time)? (wikied it, now i know) but how can you tell?
I use gloves, and its not that cold, its 0-1C now.
Well it was actually late, around 8pm. But yeah i want longer days (and a head light).
The fenders are a must, cause its wet now, and in the sumer it rains. And there not that ugly.
Gota find a cheap seat tube. but its sun. and everything is closed.

Look down this page for some examples, sometimes that is the best way to explain:

Nice job on the pics!! A far away or dark background works as well as a solid in my opinion. Very nice bike, and the fenders should be left on for sure. Cyclone M-II derailleurs, third from the top of the line for Suntour. Sweet! Great score.,,,,BD

Hey diff_lock2, hows the bike working out for ya? I just got my first road-bike today, a Tunturi 500R as a matter of fact. It seems great!
