Looking for white decals for Schwinn Varsity 1971. I found some NOS on ebay for couple bucks but they were so old they came apart in pieces just trying to slide them off the backing. At least I can scan them for the graphics in case there's some other way to make my own wet or dry application. I also found a wholesale manufacture who will make new runs of various types of decals but no retail. Anyone have any leads on finding a set? Any interest in a general discussion about decal types, old and new, NOS and do-it-yourself, etc.

Is JRrestore out there? I am very interested in buying some Bridgestone decals which he let me know he has. Then when I emailed him to say I am interested, he hasn't responded?

Does anyone know of another source for Bridgestone RB-1 decals?

Thanks!

I'm still here, I sent you a PM. It took some time to find the seat tube decal and get it into my library (the one I have wasn't going to work). Talk to you tomorrow. JR.

In the DIY vein, look for inkjet water slide decal paper. You won't find it in many stores, but it's available via the internets.

That stuff's okay for scale models that sit on a shelf, but it's way too fragile for bike applications.

Ink jet decals?

Chris, the big factor is bleed through, colors are limited, no white, silver or gold, all colors are made with 4 color process. This shows up when you put a light color (say yellow) over dark paint.the Inkjet decals will not hold up outside.

Best regards, JR.

Chris,
The best DIY method is to create your own vector artwork (Illustrator) and get it professionally printed on materials that will last. I can help you with the printing part. Send a PM to discuss.

JRrestore is the real deal. He made some repros for the Volare that are dead on.

Schwinn Varsity Top Tube Decals
JR,
Attached is an image of Schwinn Varsity top tube decals I'm wanting to get / make / apply for my re-do of a ladies 1972. I can get the image re-drawn as an Adobe Illustrator vector file and then can you help me get them printed? Thanks. Please PM me with the details. Not a lot of glitz and glamor with this one I know but I'd really like to have a set without giving up any limbs or children. Thanks.
Mark
