Does anyone out there have a picture of a early 1970's Brooks B15 Saddle.. I need to know what the Brooks Badge looks like. Several years ago someone stoll the Brooks emblem off of my 1972 Schwinn Sports Tourer and they also took the Head Badge. Brooks has been kind enough to provide me with several Brooks Saddle badges, as they were unsure which one was close to the 1972 emblem my B15 had.

So lets see some pictures of your Brooks B15 saddles.

I have a 1973 B-17 that has a badge like this one from eBay

I have two B-15s at home (I'm in FL at the moment), and the pictures I have on photobucket don't show the badge. I'll try to get back to you after I return. I don't think the badge looks like the one on the B-17.

I just picked up a 1972 Sports Tourer that seems to have all the original parts. The saddle badge is a bit faded, but looks like previous reply pic. How did you ask Brooks for a spare saddle badge? I might need one when I start cleaning up my bike.

Unfortunatly the badge they sent was not the correct one. They do not have any badges from that time period. Maybe I can eventually find a early saddle that is toast, but has a good badge.

I have a few wrecked B.72s with various era badges - I'll get you a photo of them tomorrow.

FWIW my B-15, from the 1950's sports a (gasp) plastic badge. Sorry no pics.

This is a 1964 B-15 if that's any help.

My NOS Brooks B5N from, I believe, 1978, also has a plastic badge, with the goofy-looking (IMO) lettering like that shown in the photos at the beginning of this thread. I would be happy to swap badges for a newer metal one that's better-looking, but they don't have the same rivet spacing. Old is 2-1/16", new is 1-7/8".

Now that badge that ollo_ollo posted is the real deal!

There must have been several different types of badges used in the early seventies, all looking about the same, but constructed and printed differently. The one I have on my '73 B17 I mentioned looks like all those above, but it appears that the "BROOKS" and outline were printed on an aluminum tag with a gloss black finish. Now, all that is left is the black and you can only read where the lettering was by looking at it from an angle. I'd also be curious to know how to obtain a new badge from Brooks, but I'm not sure I'd really want one because it would look out of place on a 35-year-old saddle.
