Advice on colour - please

The album linked here ( https://picasaweb.google.ca/2manybikes/ClaudButler ) is my Claud Butler. All 531, a lovely bike to ride and one that I have decided to do a full restore on. Re-polish all the chrome lugs, fork legs, stays, etc.

I am going to send it off for re-paint and re-decalling.

This colour, Corvette Yellow, is not the original paint, it was originally a British Racing Green and was re-sprayed at some point in its life.

So what do you think? BRG? I am thinking of doing in BRG, with a metal flake, and a couple of coats of clear.

Do it up nicely.

What say you folks, re-do as Corvette Yellow, or BRG?

If I go BRG - what colour do you see the decals as??

Pearlescent yellow. It will really look dazzling with all the chrome and aluminum shiny bits. The next bike I paint will be this.

Interesting. I just powder coated a Claud Butler Dalesman (originally blue) to almost the exact same yellow.

That bike would be great with BRG and gold or yellow decals. Yellow decals would be my choice.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking.

Either that or Ivory coloured panels with black decals.

BRG was the color I thought of even before you said it. I think the ivory panel with black decals would be perfect if you can swing the cost of the two tone paint.

BRG with gold decals is the obvious choice, but ivory panels with black decals is definitely the classy choice.
