Bikes: I hate bikes!

I gave up after 6 months trying to get one for Trek 710 and let the painter get, umm.. creative.

The problem with the Trek headbadge (if it's the one from the early 80s that I have, on a frame) is that it was applied with adhesive, not rivets, so they're not easy to remove without messing them up. The design is simple enough -- there's someone around who does custom headbadges. I'll bet if you got the graphics, someone could laser cut or etch a beautiful replica on brass, and then bend it over a mandrel just slightly smaller than the headtube. It's filled with black.

Well I have one on a bike, and a while ago I thought of just taking it off anyways.
I'll let you know, because if you want it on you "scorcher", then I may just decide to take it off.

D*mn, I just saw one (brass/black) in a box of odds'n'ends at the (rainy) swapmeet in Mill Valley this morning...if only I'd read this beforehand. But, if it turns up at the next swap (and they sometimes do) I'll snag it.

Want a custom one? Try Headbadges.com (a jeweler who does them).
